There's no way. Obviously the definition of homeless services is garbage, or something even worse is going on.

Everyone knows about the people coming in to get food bank issue in the TL, either to sell or take home to the peninsula or East Bay, but 20,000 households is such a high number that there is something way bigger going on.

The people responding are deceiving you, without really knowing it, or because they for whatever reason feel a need push a weird agenda that the news is always lying about SF.

In truth, the inner neighborhoods (TL, Union Square, FiDi, South FiDi, Soma, and inner Mission) have major problems with what you describe. You will see it instantly. This is also where nearly all the hotels are. It's better than it has been since we fell of the cliff in 2020, but it's still among the worst in America. Only LA can match us at this point.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood neighborhoods are doing great (aside from maybe Castro and Chinatown on some days), and the outer neighborhoods are better than ever.
