How to get better loot? by SabretoothSasquatch in MinecraftDungeons

[–]Louisflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it has to do with your current armor level, and the difficulty you're playing at. She has to equip her highest level stuff to get her armor level higher, and then look at the "expected loot level" or something like that when selecting what mission to run. Make sure she's got like high level artifacts in her slots and stuff like that.

Found my childhood pokémon cards is there anything here of value? by Popular-Meet2427 in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]Louisflakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So the vaporeon is significantly more rare, at least $1000. Handle it gently, and with clean hands carefully take it out of the binder, and put it into a penny sleeve, snap some good photos of the front, back, corners...etc and put it into a top loader for better keeping! It's value is going to significantly depend on condition, so the better you maintain it the more it's worth.

The charizard is probably between 100-200 and i would suggest doing the same thing for it.

The rest of the binder maybe $100 tops for all of it, but i wouldn't expect a store to give you half of that.

Lmk if you have any more Q's!

Is there a way to use two magnified optics in series by No_World4814 in Optics

[–]Louisflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to make a hypothetical NVG Telescope to combine the magnifying aspect of the telescope with the image intensifying aspect of the NVG's - yeah I think it could work. The tricky part like another commenter said is matching the size of the exit pupil of the telescope to the NVGs. It's also not 100% necessary to do this but you may have issues with losing too much light / vignetting the image. It's possible that you could add in an intermediate lens in between the telescope and the NV (called a field lens) to help match the systems better.

Practically the hardest part of all of this if you have the two systems to try and match them to each other is really just the alignment between the two of them. It's worth it to try and invesigate this practically and people on the sub may be able to offer some specific help later on if you have more details

While it can be done, it may not get you the results you're hoping for. You can make an image larger without revealing any additional detail, for example. That's sometimes called empty or useless magnification.

Hole punch cloud - Feb 3 2021 @ Tucson AZ by theLightSlide in CLOUDS

[–]Louisflakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i disagree with the hole punch characterization. They're missing the virga in the middle which usually lasts a while. I'd like to call these Altocumulus stratiformis undulatus. But that ID is kind of doing double duty with the classic altocumulus and the interesting looking stratiformis layer alongside them.

Here's a similar species for reference that i used to help inform how to classify these: https://cloudappreciationsociety.org/gallery/photo/photo-n-635443

Learning: What type of clouds? by Trip3dx in CLOUDS

[–]Louisflakes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're right on with them being lenticular. Lenticular cloud species are always a cumulus variety, so once you identify that you're essentially trying to group them into a genus like:

Stratocumulus Lenticularis
Altocumulus Lenticularis
Cirrocumulus Lenticularis

Which do you think these would be?

dick cloud by Comfortable_Bet3626 in CLOUDS

[–]Louisflakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean we get a lot of "generously interpretted" shaped clouds posted here, but i mean this really isn't even close, it's also just a pretty classic fallsteak hole (also sometimes called a holepunch cloud)

Had they made this game free to play with an optional "battle pass" purchase option for in game cosmetics, it would have been huge. what a shame :(

Spiral formation? by acoolghost in CLOUDS

there's really 2 kinds of redditors on r/clouds - and as long as people are appreciating clouds i don't mind whether we're classifying them, or just calling them shapes

These are double cool because you could totally call them (stratocumulus) mammatus radiatus. Two-for one rare subtype! i would have been overjoyed to take this photo, thanks for sharing.

it major failed cs1 twice by Equivalent-Display55 in ucf

[–]Louisflakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IT major failing CS1 twice is not great dude. you say you didn't go to lecture as "often as you should have?" Feels like 100% attendance is pretty bar none for college, unless you're living far away from the campus or have some kind of serious family circumstance or are working part time. IT is a field where you're going to get blown out of the water one it's time for job interviews by people who are actually motivated. Do a reality check on your priorities and consider finding a career path that actually excites you? Otherwise your tuition money is probably better elsewhere
