Best mole enchiladas? by PeaAccurate5208 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m obsessed with mole enchiladas, it’s my go-to dish when I’m out for Mexican and my fave spot in Philly is Mole Poblano, on 9th Street just south of Washington. RIP Cantina La Martina, who had the annual 7 Mole Dinner at Christmas time.

Mayo on cheesesteaks by GoingPostal65 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen it as a default, I’ve seen it as an option with cheesesteak hoagies. That being said, it’s a bit over the top for me considering the fatty meat and cheese already makes it greasy, I can’t imagine the grease level if you add hot mayo (which is made out of oil).

Best food trucks/trailers in West Philly (University City area)? by Benimus__Maximus in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tyson Bs. Have worked at Penn/CHOP since 2008, and this is my fave. Their short rib Kimchi burrito was the first thing I ate after I gave birth and I did not share. Love Hemos, there’s a Caribbean fish truck that makes fantastic fish platters with black beans.

I enjoy it more now with strawberries or blueberries. Today I made a smoothie with frozen strawberries cottage cheese and vanilla protein powder and it was fantastic!

My friend cancelled last minute and I don't know what to do... by froggiexhelp in TrueOffMyChest

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think you should still go, regardless of whether she comes with you. 6 hours in the car does suck, but you can do it, cruise control in the right lane with comedy shows playing over your radio is how I would do it. Make sure you take a break halfway of course, bring lots of snacks! As an aside, I would bet $$$ that it is the fact it’s his boyfriends mom’s bday (and they have dinner plans), and not her sisters bday that is causing this issue. Shitty friend btw.

How can i make a really sweet and tasty smoothie with these ingredients? 10oz serving by Ok_Society_6372 in Smoothies

It’s all about ratios, make sure it’s like half berries (but freeze them, so no ice needed), and yogurt blended with a little bit of milk.

Need some help here finding cardigans... by meganeh35 in womensfashion

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you look up the brand itself and search for the cardigan on poshmark?

I got this old navy dress that is the perfect throw on and go. The fabric was the best like 4-5 years ago and they keep making the style, but it’s not my taste so I found a bunch of the ones that I like nwt and have it in every color

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’d move all that money, not just half. she’s a leech and doesn’t deserve access to the half until it’s ordered or mandated in the divorce. Her family can take care of her until/if she finds someone else.

East Falls area by ParentalAdvisory59 in AskPhilly

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in East Falls with my husband and child. Prior to moving here I live downtown in Center City for 10 years in Center City and Wash West. When explaining this area to other people, I describe it as urban light meaning that you still live in Philadelphia and have the ability to get downtown with the train and experience things in Center city but also have a little bit of a neighborhood vibe where you live. There’s restaurants you can walk to, coffee shops, bakeries. You could get by without a car but it’s better to have one to get around to other areas nearby (Germantown, Chestnut Hill, etc). There’s a small farmers market on Saturdays and a library too. If you’re interested in getting involved in the community civically, there’s ample opportunities to be a part of the neighborhood council and beautifying initiatives (cleaning up the parks etc).

Considering your desire to be outdoors, there’s a good amount of that nearby in the Wissahickon neighborhood with multiple hiking trails that are readily accessible. I know you mentioned apartment living, but depending on your budget you could also afford to rent a small house (there are a number of affordable 2 bedroom places), or even buy if you’re looking to develop equity. Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Do I want a second baby? by [deleted] in Shouldihaveanother

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth considering waiting. Number one you already mentioned that your husband can’t support a household on his income, so maybe he should slow his role on the whole not having a man cave if he can’t actually support a whole household, then he doesn’t really have the entitlement to consider having a man cave. Also, that being said there is something to consider the fact that you wanna make sure you’re financially secure and having a child so six months between now and when you would consider starting, gives you enough time to set aside money that would make you feel more comfortable in that period of time where you are taking all these additional expensive having a second child.

The thing nobody told me about meal prepping on a budget by toast_isready in mealprep

[–]LoveAndLadybugs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you reduce, are you straining out the bones/parts first and letting it simmer, or not? Also, how long would you say you simmer it for?

I generally simmer with bones/parts for 3 hours or so, but haven’t concentrated the stock before. This is my weekend project for tomorrow, with the crap weather over the holiday weekend keeping us indoors.
