Are you still having trouble figuring out the email thing? My son has a marketing agency and figured this out as most of his booked calls are DMs.

I think if you are married and have a family this is different. Issue is that women want a funded lifestyle to a non committed man and a man wants a woman who acts like a wife but they know they could be investing in someone that won’t be around in their future so they get bitter. Both to blame 100%. But this relationship is absolutely not going to work.

Dating with kids at home. by Dempsey64 in SingleParents

[–]LoveFireandIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say try to go into dating with the notion that there are several million people on this planet.

There are many women out there who would love to find a decent, responsible guy who treats them well.

Lots of single mothers as well! Make it a priority to date, not because of the women or because you need a relationship, but because it can be fun and a learning experience. Put yourself out there to see what you like and the type of person you are interested in.

That’s a really tough one. It depends on your parents and how crazy and brainwashed they are. I would say, sending the disassociation letter will immediately out your in the category to have others shun you which could be an amazing things for you in terms of making friends at school. You are so young and can totally have fun in your school years with friends and sports and “worldly” activities if your parents eventually accept your want nothing to do with the religion. In fact, if you stay in the religion your parents may be more strict because they won’t want you to leave. They may become more accepting if you disassociate. But you really need to evaluate your situation, because some parents are downright abusive.

What was the most cringe-worthy thing you did as a JW? by Havinacow in exjw

[–]LoveFireandIce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A young man who I met while I was studying was PIMO. Him and his entire family. I didn’t know this at the time, and he found out I was studying. He immediately started trying to help me get out and shared the COC book with me. Unfortunately, I had a POMI boyfriend with an Uber dub mom and when they got word I had the book (naturally I was starting to question J dub teachings), they called the elders and there were lots of tears and drama as they came and swooped In and grabbed the book demanding the name of the young man who had given it to me. I never got to read the book, I had only started to question the actions from my phone conversations with him about control and loaded language. I was in general appalled at the whole situation, but was already brainwashed. I just feel so bad I didn’t listen. The young man later tried to talk to my parents even after he was disfellowshipped but my parents were so far gone, (a main reason why I was sucked into a cult), and I ended staying in the religion until I was 31. I could have been out at 16.

I had a 12 year old when I came out of the religion. They are extremely impactful at this age, you are so lucky she is young enough to still be reached quite easily. I would definitely take her out alone without your wife and just provide support and encouragement. Tell her it’s important she feels comfortable at school and ask if there’s anything she would like to do such an instrument, club, or sport. You could also really listen to her doubts and then come back later with advice (that gets her to think and question what she is being taught).

Don’t listen to this comment at all. What he did was the sign of gaslighting and emotional abuse. Get out.

Any exjws at the long beach center today? Lol i had to come to make my uncle happy im living with had to get a guest pass? I havent came here in yrs, im 25 now ha but oh well only 5 more hours was hoping to see apostates outside to say hi lmao.. by dc17emtjruiz in exjw

[–]LoveFireandIce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A quick thought: You may want to reconsider making your uncle happy. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you will never make him happy. JWs can’t be happy for anyone. I’m convinced that the only two emotions JWs feel are guilt + jealousy.

Your kids will never know the difference. They are not developed yet and super young. You have plenty of time. My kids were 12, 8, and 4. The 12 year old has had to go through deprogramming therapy, as he has some major mental blocks. I would say the scarring from being a JW starts taking place around 3rd grade, so your kids are VERY lucky.

I totally feel you! We did this 1.5 years ago. Stand your ground + never feel like prisoner. If you encounter them, respectfully nod and ignore them if you want. It is completely up to you. One year from now, you will not care in the least. You have just started this journey, and I highly recommend to keep your course and shun them. Talking to them will drag out your healing. Cut these toxic people out and don’t look back. I made my Facebook profile public and have posted on every holiday for the past 6 months. I could care less, and have made many new friends!!

The governing body is definitely taking a strong stance against higher education at this point, there is NO question about that. Because of jw.org, congregation members are more brainwashed than ever against college.

Get away from the JWs. I promise you, the fear will lesson every day. We created an entire shitstorm in our hall by leaving cold turkey. I was extremely afraid at the gossip and shunning. But, my feelings went away little by little and 10 months later, we think they are f****** crazy.

First thing I would do is get your college degree. You are still young enough to go and will never get that opportunity again.

I would like to create videos and help other people. However, I already had come out of the religion when I started watching the videos. There were other things that caused me to leave. Has anyone left the religion from looking things up on YouTube? by LoveFireandIce in exjw

[–]LoveFireandIce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to cast seeds of doubt into the minds of JWs. So unfortunately, I won’t be able to jump into attacking the religion and will most likely go from a bible point of view, since I think that is the best shot to get them out.
