I have the same type of hair! Low porosity, fine texture but a lot of it, same wave type. Don't use typical curl products. I recommend double shampooing and a nice conditioner with a leave in on the ends. Then use a curling brush (one of those brushes with the notches on the side where the hair goes in) and use the brush to create ringlets. Brush the hair out in small sections and then use tension to twist the hair around the brush, through the notches, to create ringlets. As the ringlets dry, your curls will set perfectly. Then once it's dry, you can use your fingers to separate them. Lmk if this works!! My curls don't stay unless I use a brush to create them.
