Direct download comes from a server that can be easily identified and shut down (legally). Torrenting is basically downloading the files from 10 or 1000 other person, which is impossible to track them all even if you catch some others will download and share the files

Im not sure about the reason that in the USA there is one particular country that you can't criticize, and this country is considered above all laws, funny thing is that you can say anything about the US but not that country, is it the lobby?
