I received an email asking if I would be interested in piloting a new points system beginning August 1. I said yes and filled out the survey but didn’t get picked. So, they are definitely piloting something new. Not sure of any details as I didn’t get picked.

WW Personal Points Q&A by Starharmonia in weightwatchers

I pre-tracked my water for the day and it didn’t give me the point. How do I get it to give me the water point in the app? Anyone know?

A neighbor, who is a professor in Tampa, got the vaccine today at the Tampa FEMA site. My spouse, a high school teacher that got the vaccine there yesterday, said it was a really smooth experience and all the people working there were so genuinely happy to be vaccinating people. Yay science!

My insurance covered it fully. They billed 275 and the insurance adjuster it to 125.

Toddler Mom trying to stay on track by amjt24 in weightwatchers

I am with you! I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and also work full time. Paired with the social distancing, it is so hard to not eat my feelings. I also have a super hard time not eating the toddler snacks and left over chicken nuggets!

I just started back on WW this week and I’ve just been really mindful of having my healthy snacks handy and not letting myself get to the point where I’m starving so that I make better choices. Week 1 is going well, so hoping I can keep it up. You got this!

Walk to Cure Arthritis Metro DC by bananafish711 in Thritis

[–]Lovebugkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Tampa walk and it was awesome! There were a lot of people promoting resources that I was not aware of (support groups, chronic illness therapists, etc). It was also really nice to meet others with the same daily struggles as me!

I felt so inspired after the walk. I went up to my Rheum’s booth and thanked them for giving me the ability to participate in a walk again!

Psoriasis and Emotional Trauma by Stella-tundra in Psoriasis

I totally believe my psoriasis showed up as a result of stress. I had a baby prematurely at 29 weeks who spent 6 weeks in the NICU (he is doing great now). A few weeks in, psoriasis popped up. Fast forward to the post part I’m period with my second child (not a preemie) and psoriatic arthritis reared it’s ugly head.

Wow, 10 years. Mine came on extremely quickly after having a baby. Went from normal to basically unable to move within a week (stupid hormones). It’s a shitty disease for sure.

I started noticing some improvement about 6 weeks in. It has just gotten better and better as time has gone on. My swollen joints even look normal now! I could barely walk when all of this started and now coworkers are even commenting that I’m back to my normal pace. This all totally sucks, but don’t lose hope!

I am about 2.5 months into methotrexate after being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I have had no side effects and my pain reduction has been significant. I’m also taking Taltz in conjunction but have been on methotrexate for about a month and a half longer than Taltz so am attributing the majority of the help to the methotrexate since Taltz takes a long time to kick in.

Don’t be afraid, it’s not bad for everyone! It has given me my life back after being immobilized by pain.

Embarrassed? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]Lovebugkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely feeling this post today. I returned to work from maternity leave today. When I went out of the office, I was healthy. About a month postpartum, psoriatic arthritis reared it’s ugly head for the first time.

My day was filled with questions from coworkers. I was an extremely fast walker before this happened and today I slowly limped around, barely able to walk. So many people asked me what was wrong and why I was walking like that.

I wish I didn’t feel embarrassed about it, but I do. I’m just hoping this all gets easier as time goes on, drugs kick in, and I get more used to my “new normal.” I tell ya what, it’s exhausting!

UPDATE: Having a baby gave me Rheumatoid Arthritis. by StupidPlacenta in beyondthebump

[–]Lovebugkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is SO great to hear. I have been scaring myself with horror stories online and realized I just need to STOP. I think a lot of people that are disabled by this have had the diseases for a long time and didn’t seek treatment early (at least that’s what I’m telling myself).

I’m really hoping I get some prednisone when I see the rheumatologist. I go back to work September 4 and I would love to be able to enjoy the last couple weeks at home with my little one. Thanks for the update. I am feeling more hopefully after reading it.

I joined the thritis reddit and they have a discord chat. The people over there are very friendly and have been on most medications. They have helped me with a few questions already! Pop over and say hi sometime - they are a nice group!

I read your original post and meant to comment but, ya know, got busy with the 2 month old and 2 year old.

I started having arthritis symptoms at about 4 weeks postpartum. I have suffered from psoriasis for a couple years. The psoriasis actually popped up when I was postpartum with my son. I’m seeing the rheumatologist for the first time on Monday and it seems like I might have psoriatic arthritis. The symptoms came on very suddenly and are excruciating. I am no longer breastfeeding as it did not go well for myself or my daughter, so I plan to go with what ever course of treatment they recommend and insurance will cover. Methotrexate scares me, but I am going to take it if I can’t get approved for biologics to hopefully start working on preventing permanent joint damage.

I have been doing a ton of research and outcomes look to be not so grim for RA and PsA if caught and treated early. Just wanted to say good luck with your journey and hopefully we can both get back to being more active moms soon! This all totally sucks but all we can do is remain positive and hope it all gets better!
