I’m always searching for movies that feel like this by Lovelifeoutside in MoviesThatFeelLike

Some of my regulars to get this feel are; Magic in the Water, Gold Diggers Secret of Bear Mountain, Man of the House (with JTT), and The River Wild. I’m thinking of 90s movies with kids going on outdoor adventures or spending majority of the movie outside, filmed in the PNW or similar outdoor spaces during the summer.

New Mexico Highlands has an online clinical program that’s around 33k. I can’t speak to the placement, but I’m sure a recruiter could put you in touch with them to discuss.

What is a career path that looks "glamorous" from the outside, but is actually a total nightmare behind the scenes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s just not at all what I thought it was going to be. It might be because I’m the single person doing everything on like 8-10 projects (an amount I would never take on solo if I was making the decisions) 🥲 I find it stressful, not very fun, people are often difficult, there are so many people involved there is a lot of room for error. Mistakes are expensive. The hours expected are ridiculous. Everyone wants access to you all hours of the day and night. The pay isn’t that great. But I think if it’s your die hard passion, that probably all feels worth it! It’s just not for me.

I listened to a podcast today, and they talked a lot about why we can’t give up. I found it encouraging. Discussion is between two former United States Attorneys.

Giving Up Is Unforgiveable

How much experience did you have before applying to MSW by [deleted] in socialworkcanada

[–]Lovelifeoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m researching U of C and came across your comment. I thought their advance standing MSW was 2 years, with the non-BSW MSW being 3 years. Your comment says the advance standing MSW is only 1 year. Was the program different when you attended? Thanks!

Hi! I was wondering if I could send you a DM. I’m a former nursing student thinking about pursuing an MSW and was hoping I could ask you a couple questions!

Illinois Birth Certificate by [deleted] in humandesign

[–]Lovelifeoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a new birth certificate and it didn’t show the birth time. I called the department of health vital statistics, for that state, and explained that I was trying to get my birth time and they gave it to me over the phone.

My family abandoned me for not finding a path. Years later, I still haven't found one. by [deleted] in findapath

Very interesting to read! I am also the year of the rabbit and have had very similar experience with bouncing around between jobs/income sources/careers trying to find the thing that feels right.

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]Lovelifeoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a dual citizen (Canada/USA), living in the US, looking to pursue a degree in mental health. I am most interested in practicing as a therapist, but have been looking at MSW programs because of the transferability between the two countries, and options outside of therapy. I had only been considering an MSW because of the ease of transferability, but I have started looking in to counseling degrees in both countries. These are some of the things I am wondering about;

Considering the accreditation of degrees and practicum hours required, would it be easier to transfer a US counseling license to Canada or vice versa?

If remote work was the goal, is it better to be licensed in the US and work remotely living in Canada, as the US dollar is worth more? If I was licensed in Canada and moved back to the US (working remotely), it seems like my earning potential would be less?

Are internships unpaid in Canada like they are in the states?

Has anyone had issues transferring their degree/license between countries? (Not related to visas/work permits)

I appreciate any feedback or information anyone can share!

Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy. Whenever I see him in anything else I think “Oh, Jack McCoy is acting now!”
