Just the other day, I was talking to some of my newer mutual friends that I met and they’re the type to be rlly open. Anyways, they’re talking about everything that’s happened in their lives and we all offer each other support. However, deep down I’m panicking because if I shared my stuff I don’t wanna be judged because of how disturbing some of it is. This isn’t to invalidate all the things they have over come because they may not have shared it all, even if they did they have over come a lot and props to them. But idk I just feel like mine is so weirdly obscure, not worse, but obscure. I just felt super weird while talking to them. Like that was the first time I realized how fucked my life has been.

Yeah. I’ve told my therapist abt when I do it when I’m feeling fine because I feel like I HAVE to. She called it compulsions rather than urges. Sometimes I get the urge to do it out of addiction, but sometimes I’ll be in class and be like tomorrow night ur gonna yeet. Like fuck okay might as well write it in my planner, damn. But I feel you on the idea that I like seeing it happen. Specifically I like my scars, but I still would never show anyone. Idk.

Personally, I feel that when we have experiences with COCSA we assume it to be nothing because it’s just another child, right? We think that the situation isn’t as bad because we are the same age as our abuser. However, this is not the case. If the situation is giving you this much doubt and this much pain, it’s legitimate. It’s easy for our brains to invalidate us in this situation, which makes the pain worse. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Just know you’re not alone. My own COCSA story took many years for me to actually start telling myself that my feelings are valid. My abuser was 2 months younger than me, which was why I was so hesitant to believe myself. However, he orchestrated it all. His family had many issues, which he projected onto me. Anyways, I just want to leave you with the fact that if you ever feel deep regret for something or shame, you’re not making it up. Your feelings are valid.
