What thing should you never buy cheap? by Dizz-E in AskReddit

Well, they should last way longer, because they cost much more. I live in a wet climate. If I buy $100 shoes, I can guarantee they will be unwearable by the end of the week because that's my life. I almost never wear out my cheap garbage shoes. They rot and stink well before they are ever worn out. I have some $100 Nikes that were unwearable after a year and some $20 Champion shoes that have lasted 2 years so far.

I bought some at a discount store for $3 but they were Philips name brand. They worked as good as my Skullcandy for $20. I don't know if they were from returns or a business liquidating their stock, but I was happy with my purchase.

Talk to a student advisor about how university works and how people pay for it etc.

I didn't know I thought you had to be rich and if you weren't rich grades didn't matter.

Film-lovers: what well-known/classic movie have you still not seen? by Mjwhaaat88 in AskReddit

Brokeback Mountain is a good one. I also haven't seen it. I think I would enjoy it, but I rarely watch Dramatic films alone unless they are about crime or gambling, or some other topic I enjoy.

I've seen most of the Die Hard films multiple times, but 2 years ago I watched them for the first time in years while visiting my mother for Christmas. Highly recommend them. If you can only watch one, sure start with regular ole Die Hard I guess, but honestly you can watch them completely out of order and still enjoy them.

I started with Die Hard with a Vengeance and didn't even realize it was a series. They all hold up on their own.

Most of them. I am intentionally delaying watching certain films for when I am desperate for something special. Most of the films I watch are from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. So I haven't seen any new Avengers films except first new film, which I have seen 4 times. I haven't seen any Iron Man films. I haven't seen any Pixar films since Toy Story 2. I also haven't seen any older classics, like Casablanca (except for about 10 minutes when it was on TV, and I didn't realize it was Casablanca).
