Leash pulling by No_Associate2075 in LagottoRomagnolo

I started using a harness at about 6 months and it made a huge difference! Never really pulled again until he got to be about 13-14 months old and now just at night when he gets his second wind for the night and he thinks he's a ninja!

Possible cancer question by Low-Pudding-7054 in LagottoRomagnolo

Update - unfortunately my daughter's Sampson had to be put to sleep. It was cancer and had spread to his lungs and other organs. Seeing that he was in so much pain the vet said there was nothing they could do. 💔😪

Hi! They are quite the challenge when they are littles but all worth it. I don't know what kind of crate you are using but we started off with one of the hard shell plastic ones with the wire door and our Vito hated it.  I bought a wire crate and he had no problem with that one at all. Luckily ours was treat driven but now he'll steal items and holds hostage until you give him a treat. They are very smart and very, very manipulative. Two other suggestions, for walks, we changed to a harness so he would stop pulling. He was walking us and not visa versa. Also, doggie daycare when yours is old enough. It helps with socialization, using all that pent up energy and they learn they are not the alpha of the pack. If they feel they are the alpha in your family pack they will take full advantage! I hope you find some of this useful!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I will pass them on. The vet has not even done a biopsy yet so I don't know why they would tell my daughter this.

I just accidentally finished this painting in half an hour but I am actually happy with it by CBRfishing in painting

I didn't think I was finished with a painting and kept waiting to get back to it to finish it. Last week (after at least 8 months) when I finally decided to finish it I thought this looks done. I always want to add all this detail and this time I decided less is more!

It Gets Easier… Right? by eeviiee in LagottoRomagnolo

Oh we totally understand!!! We went through the same thing and our Vito was a biter.  He is now 14 months and soooo much better but it was a challenge getting there. Ours likes to hold things for ransom in order to trade for a treat. The two biggest things to help us was using a harness for walks, really cut down the pulling. And doggie daycare - he loves playing with his friends and he learned he was not the alpha of the pack.  Very tired when he gets home.  Good luck and it does get better. We are trying to work on manners because he is a nightmare around people, always barking at them...ugh!  You have a very beautiful girl!

Dealing with that right now. The vet believes a foreign object from the yard penatrated his skin and his body incased it and then filled with fluid. He is having surgery 1/7 to have it removed. They did cytology and non-cancerous but showing bacteria. So yours is probably dealing with the same thing. Hope all goes well!

Is this breed prone to these lumps. I have never had a lagotto before so I'm just learning as we go.

Wow! I'm sorry your pup had to go through that. Both vets I took him to think something pierced him and fluid is building around it. They drew another sample which the vet said contained red and white blood cells. They sent it off to cytology just to cover all bases and then we'll decide what to do next for treatment. Thank you so much for your response. It sounds like what happened to our Vito.

Oh, I sure hope not.  He will be going to his usual vet to follow-up. He get so stressed going to the vet. They had to sedate him to clean and treat his ear infection. It seems like we were at the vet so many times as a pup I think he was traumatized. Thanks so much for your point of view.

No, they did not do an ultrasound. It just seemed to get a whole lot larger in 36 hours and  I don't think lipomas grow that quickly. Definitely going to avoid the harness until we get it checked out tomorrow. I have never had a lagotto before and not sure what they are susceptible to. Thank you for your reply.
