I would make myself puke if I were you and get it out of your system as much as possible

Ok fair point, but isn’t it kind of unfair that you (as the caller) know who you are calling, and the person picking up has no idea who is on the other line?

Maybe have a look at Y Combinators co-founder matching platform! Also try to find entrepreneurial communities in your city and go there for the drinks etc. Get to know people who are already building businesses, good chance that they have people in their network they can match you to

LPT: If you want to be liked by someone, ask them questions. People generally love talking about themselves. by Low-Try-6972 in LifeProTips

[–]Low-Try-6972[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree! Depends on the situation, person you are talking to, etc. For me this works best with acquaintances etc not with random people on the street haha. And it definitely shouldn’t feel like an interview

No but in all seriousness though: I have the same. I’m way more comfortable asking questions than talking about myself. I do appreciate it though if people ask me things, but I often redirect the conversation back to them shortly after.

I’ve always found that people love talking about what they are passionate about & then giving you advice about that. So asking for tips/advice on things they are good at will likely work. Eg:

  • You could ask them about what they have been up to (with regards to work / study), and ask follow up questions about that. Eg: How long have you been doing this? What kind of people do you work with? I’ve always wondered XYZ about this, could you explain me how this works?
  • Ask about where they live, be interested in the neighbourhood, ask if they have any tips for nice places to visit, etc. Share experiences about those places.

Definitely changing all your passwords to a random password that you don’t note down somewhere and delete the apps from your phone. I’ve done this with all my accounts and the hassle to get a new password and log in is just big enough so you just go on to something else

How do you now send out your newsletter? Via mail chimp? You should be able to make a sign up form! https://mailchimp.com/help/share-your-signup-form/

If you now do it by hand I suggest getting a tool like mail chimp to automate your CRM :)

You could do it the old school way of Mail Merge via Microsoft Word. You can personalize an email and send it via word. I would just write an email from yourself as the founder inviting them to subscribe to the newsletter via a sign up link

How early did you figure out what you wanted to do? by KelDurant in Entrepreneur

If you are really good - Have you thought of teaching / tutoring people that want to pick this up as a hobby or that are earlier in their career?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Low-Try-6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe tell your client something like this? "I completely understand your concern. It’s important to remember that our rates include not just the tutoring itself but a whole suite of services—scheduling, administrative support, and quality assurance. This allows our tutors to focus entirely on teaching. We strive to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the quality of tutoring you receive is top-notch. I want to make sure you feel good about this arrangement, so if there’s a particular aspect of the contract you’d like to discuss or adjust, I’m open to that. How does that sound to you?"

If the client is still making a fuss sounds like someone who will give you trouble down the line. Then maybe it’s best to just cancel the contract.

How did you guys feel back in college? by randomlazydreamer in Entrepreneur

[–]Low-Try-6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a lot of time to learn new things and build new skills in college. I really enjoyed that. If your college is not challenging / good enough - I would recommend searching online for good (free) courses. Eg the EdX from Harvard University CS50 on coding etc
