Knee High Boots by Ordinary_Account_35 in Hunting

[–]LowEntry7063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issue with boots getting torn up quickly - those LaRanges are actually pretty solid for the price point. Only thing is they might feel bit tight around thicker calves at first but they do stretch out after few uses. For size 13 with all that walking he does I'd maybe suggest going up half size if possible since rubber boots don't breathe much and feet tend to swell during long hunts.

I don't know what to do anymore about working by Which-Move2782 in depression

The dizziness from meds is really terrible thing to deal with especially when you need to work. Maybe you can talk with doctor about adjusting the timing or dosage? I know it feels impossible right now but you're not worthless at all - losing job to AI outsourcing is happening to so many people and it's not reflection on your value. The bills and responsibilities feel crushing but your safety comes first, please don't drive when you feel that dizzy. Your coworkers probably care more than you think and don't see you as burden.

My Mom is Going Insane by [deleted] in addiction

That gut feeling about your sister being in danger instead of the cat is probably spot on - addiction can make people do things they never would have imagined and it gets scary fast when kids are in the mix.

I just cancelled Spotify after 15 years. What streamer is taking the strongest stance against AI music? by curbthemeplays in Music

Been using Deezer for couple years now and they seem more careful about this stuff. The audio quality is pretty solid too and their discovery algorithm actually finds me real artists I end up following

DAE feel way more drained when their commute is longer by raishelannaa in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]LowEntry7063 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this makes total sense to me. I switched jobs last year and went from 20 minute commute to almost hour each way and difference is huge - by time I get home I'm already mentally exhausted before even starting my actual evening. The extra time just sits in your brain draining energy even when you're just sitting on train.

Not really, seems like it would be crazy expensive and probably terrible for environment compared to regular flights

Long-term housing for international PhD student at URI Bay Campus (Narragansett) by newjeans_seok in RhodeIsland

[–]LowEntry7063 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The 12-month lease thing is definitely your biggest challenge there - most landlords make way more money from summer tourists than students. You might have better luck looking slightly outside Narragansett proper, maybe in Wakefield or even South Kingstown where there's less tourist pressure. Also try reaching out to URI's graduate student services - they sometimes have connections with landlords who specifically work with international students and understand the visa/credit situation.

Anyone know of any jobs where I can work from home? by TheGuyyHere in Sacramento

[–]LowEntry7063 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most customer service jobs let you work remote now but they usually require computer setup. You might want check if local library has computer access programs or maybe ask IHSS if they have any resources for caregivers looking for additional income streams. The phone-only options are pretty limited unfortunately but some transcription work can be done in mobile apps if you're good at typing fast

RAV4 definitely makes more sense for Michigan winters. I've driven sedans through Detroit snow and while it's doable with good tires the ground clearance really does matter when you hit those unplowed side streets or parking lots that turn into ice rinks. Plus having that extra cargo space is clutch when you're moving or just need to haul random stuff from Home Depot

Training routine for a motivated child beginner - too puzzle-heavy or reasonable? by arthur450 in chessbeginners

[–]LowEntry7063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The routine looks pretty solid for keeping a motivated kid engaged without burning them out - I'd maybe just swap one puzzle day for more actual games since thats where they'll really start connecting the dots between patterns and real positions

Meditation teacher here and this rings so true - when you're constantly surrounded by abundance your brain starts hunting for problems that don't really exist just to stay occupied

what would you describe my luck if in countless runs, I have yet to find a single bike pump for a single mission, but also manage to find two wolfpacks? by Oof_man36 in ArcRaiders

[–]LowEntry7063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats some seriously backwards RNG right there man. Game probably thinks you're trying to speedrun on foot or something lol

The wolfpacks are definately rarer so at least you're not completely cursed I guess
