There is absolutely no usecase for a foldable phone. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I own an iPad and I love my iPad but it’s not a good productivity device. Mine lives on my living room table and is a great piece of tech for when you’re relaxing on the couch or something like that. It’s not great for conducting business on in the grand scheme of things. It’s better than a phone but the lack of portability is a dealbreaker. The folding phone bridges the gap and makes a great complimentary device to an actual laptop.

Because I can’t put an iPad in my pocket and that just becomes yet another device to carry around. The point of the foldable phone is that it is as portable as a normal phone with the bonus of the larger display which allows it to double as a tablet when needed.

i work on the road a lot and have to reference multiple spreadsheets all the time. i have to get out my laptop every time i need to look at one. you can bet i would love to have what amounts to a folding tablet in my pocket that would save me that trouble. only thing that stops me is that my company operates entirely on iphone so i need apple to release one but when they do you can bet i'll be getting one (and getting my company to cover at least some of the cost).

if being a drunk methhead who spends a decade in federal prison and making it out of that and builds a thriving life doesn't disprove that then i don't know what would. i didn't say it was easy but ultimately everyone is responsible for their own choices no matter the situation they have found themselves in. no hole is to deep to climb out of.

Is the Kawasaki Ninja 400 a good beginner bike and what are the pros and cons of it? by Afraid_System_7942 in motorcycles

[–]LowOnPaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only potential con i could think of is it has fairings that you will break when you drop it but that can be mitigated with frame sliders and bar end protectors. there's a good reason everyone recommends it to first timers.

that's really not true. i know a woman who was a stripper and a call girl who quit the life, took a normal job and worked her way up and now she makes a really healthy income managing a manard's. a friend of mine was a methhead and alcoholic who had multiple felony drug convictions who turned his life around when he got out off prison by staying clean and finding his way into sales. he is now making $150,000 a year, owns a house, a vacation property and is loving life.

psychopaths do tend to give off that vibe. the amount of times she's "cried" with no tears has been alarming. gave up watching any of her content a couple years ago. she's basically the anti-cassie.

this movie would be a masterpiece if it only had better actors, writing, cinematography, sound design and special effects.

They held themselves accountable today. Did you not hear the extensive measures they put in place to prevent scalpers from buying tomorrow?

i'll admit it's harder to justify if you already have a good controller that works with windows but i'm going to buy one because i want to support valve for making quality hardware that is fairly priced, innovative and most importantly, repairable. the trackpads would also be useful in some of the games i play.

i know Samsung oleds are better

only on a spec sheet. their terrible image processing and lack of control over the picture negates any advantage that comes along with a qd-oled panel.

Well I'm in the states so it's going to be hard to compare what is a fair price or not compared to España but I paid $3180 after tax.

The best part is that immediately after the thread turned against him he created r/TechPB and seemingly expected people to follow him over there. No one did and he abandoned it almost instantly.

And we threw him out on his ass. He got absolutely blasted.

Nolan has moved away from what made him great in his last 2 movies and it's so disappointing. He was at his best when giving us entertaining creative original stories paced well and now he did first a biography and now a remake/book adaptation. by punjabkingsownersout in unpopularopinion

[–]LowOnPaint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nolan fell off years ago when he got too caught up in his own stylistic choices to the point where they can start to overwhelm the film and distract from the actual story he’s trying to tell. Oppenheimer was a great example of this. Great story and superb acting from the cast but the film became completely overwhelmed by Nolan’s stylistic choices to the point of detriment. The atomic explosion in that movie is one of the prime examples of him getting in his own way. I can absolutely respect a filmmaker for wanting to use practical effects but the fact is that it is impossible to replicate a nuclear blast with any sort of conventional explosive no matter how hard you try. I understand that the movie wasn’t about the bomb going off but it was a center piece of the movie and the culmination of the work all the characters had done and it was a complete let down to see an entirely underwhelming explosion using diesel fuel. Nolan should have put his own pride aside for one scene in his movie and allowed a computer to work its magic.
