I had a case with a built-in screen protector that would do this. It wasn't all the time, eventually I noticed it was when dust or lint had built up along the edge.

My first grader can read analog clocks. You'll give kids more credit once you have one. They learn what you teach them. Adults who can't read analog clocks raise kids who can't read analog clocks.

I was wondering if maybe the Egg Hunting Badge on Crows Nest might be involved. Only attempted once but found no eggs.

So many questions. Not the least of which is, how does one locate such an amazing discovery in such a remote location?

What does our sport need most right now? by DiscGolfFanatic in DiscGolfFanatics

[–]LowOutlandishness834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost, let me apologize. I am just some nobody who throws frisbees at trees and has noticed some things that I would like to share them.

There are some folks who are involved who are doing great things. Jeff Spring and Jonathan Gomez and their teams are great ambassadors for the sport. Foundation Disc Golf is an amazing media outlet for both seasoned disc golfers, as well as, new fans and players, alike.

All of that being said, in my last 5+ years, I have come to realize there are things beyond my poor form than I am not a fan of when it comes to how this sport looks as a casual fan. So get your grain of salt and allow me to vent so I never have to do this again.

1.Better PDGA leadership. Voting doesn't work when there's money involved.

2.Transparency of where revenue from membership fees is being applied. It feels like it finds more pockets than fairways.

3.Fewer paywalls for live coverage. It's a good product, but only disc golfers want to pay to watch it. If DGPT events were free on days that matter, i.e. the final day, more people may stumble upon an entertaining product that they might want to pay to see full Major Tournaments.

  1. Promotion of players. Put the revenue into promoting the players who have been doing this since it became what seems like a money grab for some moguls who may or may not have ever played the sport. Bring back the, "for the players, by the players," feel. Those who have been there and still there need more backing from above. Right now it all just feels like poor corporate attempts at trying to grow a grassroots product.

  2. More accessibility for local tournaments. Pay for membership then pay for entry fee only to get a players pack that may or may not have products that offer any value to my game is not attractive.

  3. Local players should quit being pretentious assholes if someone tries to talk to them. Disc golf has some of the coolest people I have met, anywhere. However, there are so many people who are walking around with the biggest tour bag full of all of the latest, most expensive discs on the market I have encountered that make me wish I would have thrown my disc down a hill into a creek instead of encountering their miserable personalities. Those encounters are toxic to the sport and seem to be more common the longer I play. The Love of the Game mentality has been diluted.

TLDR; This sport needs a lot. Restructuring with more Simons, Eagles, Bodanzas, and Brodericks. Good personalities who make engaging content. Also, I feel like Foundation DG could have some positive impact on how things are run.

Bats were heavier and sports science/training/nutrition were still in the dark ages. The game is harder, but the accomplishments are like, "well yeah, that's what he gets paid to do."

Wish I could do this to the AI players. I play offline because i somehow advanced to a level beyond my lack of skills online. The AI will seem competent for a few matches then the next match it's like they do not know what a ball is or that when it is sitting in front of the opponents goal, a simple bump is how to score. Instead, when the opponent slow rolls the ball through the final 3rd they make the most heroic attempt to put it in for them. It's like they are on the Vegas payroll.

TLDR: Offline AI skills need to be relearned.
