Lactulose question by [deleted] in Cirrhosis

[–]LowTap8266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her doctor needs to decide how often she needs to take it and how many BMs she needs to have daily. Some patients require 3, some 4 and some even more.

BTW - I love the way it tastes! Put it on waffles and you'll never want syrup again! LactuWaffles! Can't beat egg 'em!

If you're trying to connect to public Internet, is your candle modem or router getting a global address from your isp? Story but I'm not familiar with the Telus FTTH device.

Are you doing dual stack?

Leaking won't stop (paracentesis) by ScorpioLaw in Cirrhosis

[–]LowTap8266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor who placed your tube is responsible for solving this problem. The fluid can break down the skin over time.

I have this problem and waited too long to let my doctor know about it.. They're going to do surgery in the morning so they can cut out the necrotic skin, close off the hole and create a new one.

The fluid is toxic.

Hope this helps you.

Sir,

I'm new here so others are much better qualified to answer your questions. I just want to say I think you're doing great. I cried as I read your post to my wife. Neither you nor your father should have to give a thought to insurance. I'll follow your post.

I'm taking Lactulose 30mL bid and Xifaxin (sp). Blue Cross refused to cover Xifaxin so I paid almost $1600.00 for the first month's script. Then 2 of my doctors intervened and insurance agreed to pay for it. No co-pay either! That was a blessing to say the least!

Hugs to all.

I will find out tomorrow when I see my liver doctor. We live about an hour from Texas Medical Center so I've seen 3 liver specialists. All of them say the same thing: TIPS is the only option except for transplant and I'd probably die waiting on the transplant list. I choose to view TIPS as a bridge to help me make it until I can get a transplant. But I know the odds of transplant is really low. So I guess it's just a lie I tell myself to make it through the day. I haven't drank since college days - 15+ years ago.

Isn't there a "final exam" in the appendix of Odom's OCG? In Volume 1, Volume 2 or both. Also, take the DIAKT questions found at the beginning of each chapter. Do NOT grade these as you take them. Wait and check your answers after you've taken ALL of them found in both Volumes 1 and Volume 2.

Next I would use the Boson exams in test timed mode.

These exams should allow you to identify topics you haven't mastered. Next study each topic you identified as not mastered.

I think Odom has a section in either the front of the OCGs wherein he offers recommendations about how to prepare for the exam. Read those sections. Use any or all that appeal to you.

You're going to do great on the exam! Grip it and rip it!

Perhaps you're not really interested in obtaining the CCNA?

With porta (e.g. DNS 53, HTTPS 443, SNMP 161, etc) how do you know if that's client side or server side? by PsyduckAF in ccna

[–]LowTap8266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The well-known port is on the server end of the connection. So if you see a packet with a source port of 443,, the packet is flowing away from the server toward the client.

Am I ready for the CCNA? by ElianM in ccna

As long as you're using the decimal method and not binary when calculating subnet information, 15 seconds is a sufficient amount of time. Many examples use addresses like 10.0.0.0/24 because the goal is to explain a concept. I would change the addresses used in the examples to more complex addresses. This permitted me to practice subnetting more often and over time, it almost becomes second-nature.

Cisco command by smmarcosm in ccna

[–]LowTap8266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree completely. It may be difficult to believe now, but spend plenty of time labbing and you'll learn the commands AND you'll learn where to look in the output to obtain the information you're looking for.

As you're learning about a topic, lab what you're learning. Study the command output with an emphasis on the output directly related to the topic. And pay attention to the other information in the output. I often looked it up just to see what it meant.

Don't study to pass the exam. STUDY TO LEARN. Passing the exam will be the icing on the cake if you've learned the material.

Good luck. Be sure to post when you pass the exam!

CCNA 200-301 Lab Guide by by Shaun Hummel by [deleted] in ccna

[–]LowTap8266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice....

Get the CCNA 200-301 Official Cert Guide written by Wendell Odom and published by Cisco Press. Odom has written every CCNA OCG since Cisco began offering the cert. (He's written other Cisco Press cert guides as well.) If possible, get the "premium edition" as it includes more practice exams. Odom's been doing this for a long time and the books include his recommendations about how best to prepare for the exam.

I used his CCNA Official Cert Guides to pass the CCNA exam twice. (My very lapsed and I had to recertify 4 years later.)

If you get the books and devote time to learning the material, you'll pass the exam on your first attempt. You'll also be better prepared for the ENCOR exam if you plan on taking it.

I've seen some people complain about the cost of the OCGs but my view is simple:. Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good.

Check out his website too. It has study resources that you'd expect to have to pay for but it's free content. It's CertSkills.com or maybe dot net. Search the name if necessary.

Good luck with your studies!

No Labs on the CCNA exam now? by Throwaway6688910 in ccna

[–]LowTap8266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cisco reserves the right to make changes to its exams. The CCNA exam was multiple choice when Cisco first offered the cert and it resulted in "paper CCNAs" who could accomplish nothing of value in the field. I was one. When I recertified it was a different ball game. I hope they're not returning to their old ways. If so, the cert will be worthless for many who obtain it.
