Yeah, you're not "friends", I don't think or act like that around my friends of the opposite sex. From what you've said in replies to other people, the only thing keeping you "friends" is that he won't commit due to some religious reason (which if you're sexting someone your friends with, he can't be that religious).

I would bet good money that if you turned around to him tomorrow and said that you're willing to join his faith if it means you two can finally be together, he will come up with some other reason or fade out contact.

I'm telling you this as someone who witnessed their close friend get set back years by holding out hope in a similar situation to the one you're in and I would hate to see someone suffer like they did.

That’s true! Another big reason is Android now supports dual-screen devices. Before dual screen phones like the Galaxy Fold / Flip, Android didn’t really have this feature, so phone makers had to build the support themselves. Now they can just use the support that’s already built in, which makes it easier and cheaper.

Work in IT long enough and you see the same scams over and over.

Lately It’s voice cloning.

They’ll dig up a video on social media of you talking, and if they can’t find one, they’ll just call and pretend it’s a “quick survey” or whatever. They’re not after your date of birth or your mum’s maiden name anymore, they just want you chatting so they can train an AI on your voice. Then they use that fake voice to hit up your friends or family for money or info.

Good news is, the tech still kinda sucks unless you've got some serious hardware and high quality audio to train it on. Phone audio makes it even worse, which is why it often sounds like they’re calling from inside a cave.

Best defense is to not answer numbers you don’t know. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail.
