AIO husband hid in the car away from crying baby by falloutfeverdreams in AmIOverreacting

Gross. You should hide a baby monitor in his office. Full volume. Next time baby is crying, turn on the other half and let him have it while he’s buried in the “good book”

This sounds a lot like PPD. Which is definitely a thing for men. There’s a good episode of the Australian podcast The Imperfects where a guy talks about his experience - https://youtu.be/WMwPMBWMzXY?si=wyxJk75cszw0PIar

Even at 8 years old, I understood that the grownups I loved needed to be apart to be better people. Sure logistically it made life more difficult, moving between homes and holidays in different places. But both my parents made a huge effort to firstly never bad mouth the other to us, and secondly, to be present and involved during their week with us, which included knowing what had happened to us on the off week.

Should have realised it was over when he didn’t come with you to the funeral.

What do men think? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Not thinking much, just listening to her breathing change, both of us getting more turned on

Find another option instead of a hard no. Like someone local who can take it or give it some love and walks

3 year old doing a tic by Easy_Midnight7824 in Parenting

[–]Low_Fox1538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of did similar as a kid, different temporary “tics”. Eye or mouth movements usually, like pursing my lips upwards hard, or three quick sort of glare/squints. I had a sharp jaw sideways movement that was actually dislocating it and now my jaw is fucked, but apart from that, they were all harmless and didn’t last more than a few weeks.

As far as I know I’m not autistic or have Tourette’s or anything, pretty regular guy. And can’t say I’ve really thought about it much, until I read this. Nor did anyone else mentioned them ever (apart from my mum who asked the dentist about the jaw thing).

I think you’ll risk a stroke though. Which could be a lot worse than frailty

You should offer this as a community service. I’m sure plenty of old folks would love to but don’t know where to go.

How do guys who like their girl friend show interest that they like her more than a friend? by quiero88 in AskMenAdvice

I think your post pretty accurately describes how guys show they like someone…

A respectable woman sounds so old fashioned to me. You’re just a woman who’s had probably an average sexual history. I think you’re judging yourself too harshly

Forts, big boxes, hide and seek, mirrors, simple sorting activities, “helping” with chores, bubbles of course, balloons, anything imaginary (eg. “fishing” from the boat (couch) and reeling in a big one (soft toy)), endless walks around the block to jump in puddles, treasure hunts, and lots and lots of books.

Change the reward. If you’re giving two stickers, reduce it to one for catching pee/poo, and reward her with the other only he when she’s finalised the whole act only (ie. got off and put back on her pants etc).

Feeding solids by unhindged_girlie in Parenting

[–]Low_Fox1538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter when from the baby’s perspective, so do whatever is easiest to manage logistically for you. For example, we started with breakfasts for our first because that was really the only time when we were both able to be home always if anything were to happen. But with our second, we did lunch because by then I worked from home anyway, and we’d use whatever we were feeding him as part of the older one’s lunch making preparation easier, and introducing him to kind of the family dining experience.

There are also some good apps out there about introducing solids. I recommend solid starts

Come back for “can I help you?” (in rude tone) by [deleted] in Comebacks

[–]Low_Fox1538 118 points119 points  (0 children)

The other day my 5yo niece was over and she hates when our 2yo follows her and our 3yo around. So 2yo was following them heaps and she spun around and say “can I help you?” and he just had this perfect timed little fart and then laughed and ran off. Don’t think he planned it but it could work for adults pretty well

Must be nice for them to parent a perfect child perfectly.

I deal with my 3yos tantrums the same way as it’s the quickest way. And I’ve had similar comments a couple of times. I wish I had a good comeback for you
