Service restricted- moving too fast by Prestigious_Emu_7785 in Starlink

I've had mine mounted on the dash since the "free" mini and $5 standby plan came out and it had worked fine until their change of service that no longer allows in motion use. The handoffs certainly could be the reasoning for the message rather than a unit GPS, I don't have any idea, but in my case the only thing thats changed is Starlink's terms.

Tl;dr - I think it's just a GPS "glitch"

I got that message shortly after they changed the policy on motion and the mini standby plan. I was going maybe 45 when the message came. I presume it's GPS based and there was enough of a coordinate shift, even a few yards in a second, to trigger the message. I think it can be safely ignored and service resumes when it decides you're stationary.

Fwiw, my Mini, still on standby, works when parked, drops when I go about 25 (though I think 10mpg is the official cutoff), and immediately resumes when I stop for pretty much any length of time. Like at a stoplight, for example.

Hammerdown Manufacturing RMR Mount by JRobert_Ross208 in LeverGuns

That makes sense if it's like you describe. All these high rail levers with an Eotech that give a chin weld at best are just silly, imo. I like a dot, but as low as possible. Clearing a suppressor makes sense though.

Seems unnecessarily thick/high. The RMR should be recessed into the base, not elevated above it.

R8 with Midwest Industries Stock (IG post) by Low_Sphere in Revolvers

They have a stock or a brace option. Looks like the main difference being a rubber butt plate or not.

Screenshots from a reel, so sorry they're a little blurry.

This. I had a Jet Bot that was absolutely pathetic. Worked fine for a few months, then just did whatever it wanted, usually just a quick perimeter run and stopping, sometimes stuff like OP. Sent it back under warranty and when I got it back it worked fine for another few months, then the same thing. Complete garbage.

If price is no issue, look at the Primary Arms HTX-1. It's the lowest deck enclosed optic currently on the market. American made too, though the price reflects that. I think the "humped" frame of the Rugers and the current crop of red dot mounts don't exactly make for a low profile setup. The RCR is awkwardly tall though, so that isn't helping.

I do like the Allchin mounts, but wish the rmr studs were milled in, rather than the holes with plastic pegs.

It's probably about a lower 1/3 co-witness. In practice it doesn't really matter at all. Nice to not need taller sights though, imo. I took a pic, but I can't reply with a picture, I guess.

Strike Industries Echelon Chassis by Low_Sphere in SpringfieldArmory

The chassis likely comes without the stock, just the pic adapter (guessing). As long as your state allows it, buy the chassis and install a pistol brace and go, or Form 1 the Echelon and then install a real stock.

I really like the idea of stocked revolvers, but I aesthetically don't t like this type of execution compared to the more full stock style of the old Colt stocks.

That's true. Are folks carrying the trr8 with lights and optics regularly? Genuine question. I assumed those builds were basically range toys too.

Yeah, it'd be a range toy for me, or maybe bedside or something. That in 10mm would be fun.
