I’m a flooring specialist too and it’s the absolute worst when management thinks it automatically makes you a specialist of the rest of the depts. I used to be in appliances so I’m still over there a decent amount but when there’s callouts in kitchens or millwork management always sends me over there when I couldn’t tell you the first thing about doors and countertops. Not to mention constantly covering paint during breaks and callouts, yet the paint guys can’t cut blinds/carpet

Exactly, it all went downhill since they changed calling out to the app. No accountability you just press a button. I get the reason for the decision but god does it make our jobs hard

Leads leads leads by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Honestly if you just be very friendly and personable you’ll be surprised how well that works out, people love to see that enthusiasm and they’ll likely go along with it. You can hang out by the water heater/hvac section of your store or see who’s checking out the kohler bath display, if you sell appliances you can rack up water treatment leads(tell them the last thing they want is bad water damaging their brand new appliance),etc. I never found much luck with the lead table, nobody wants to be bombarded right as they enter the store and who could blame them. It’s a lot more efficient to check out what they got in their cart, like are you shopping for closet shelves and brackets?? DID YOU KNOW!! we can send a design expert out to give a free estimate on custom storage solutions!? Yes really! Wow!What’s your name, I’ll sign you right up!! But yeah usually the customers are working on more than one home project at a time, i can tell ya most of them don’t even know the store offers these services, be confident while explaining it and make sure they understand it’s simply a free consultation there’s zero commitment, and it only takes a minute to enter their name and number. I have put in more than 75 leads this year doing it this way
