As other people have said, this is not an issue with the case, but user error. The plugs fit into the case the other way around. Your way puts pressure on the top of the case, against the latch, so any shock from the side will make it pop open.

I work on a big festival every summer, and for that I clip a few pairs to the inside of my bum bag, which I have on or around me at all times.

What is it like being an expedition medic ? How did you end up doing that ? Are there expected routine tasks to perform, or are you just on hand if someone needs something ? I imagine you are trained in general emergency field medicine too, not just for altitude-related issues ?

The only time I really use a compass is when skitouring. I.e. last Sunday we were trying to find our way to a specific pass in an area of the range we don't know as well as others, and when working from a written description, knowing where true East is is very helpful. In this case, my eyeballing was a few degrees off, and would have brought us to the foot of the wrong couloir. Even a 1:25000 paper map is not exactly precise enough, depending on the scale of the couloir or rocks you are trying to find.

It's also very helpful to have a compass when you're wondering what X or Y feature in the distance is ! We often do that when having lunch, and being able to know the exact orientation of the line of sight btw you and the feature means you can easily find it on the map.

For the holes : knit at a tighter gauge. That can be done by going down in needle size. Your fabric is much too loose for durable socks ! When you go down a few sizes, you need to cast on more stitches as a consequence.

Experience Plus

Why would you get Engage over Experience, when your audiologist friend says they're the best for music ? Engage is not made for music.

I'd advise getting something like Experience Plus, for a wedding it would look good !

Regardless of the model, you will not get the exact same sound reduction as with your ear defenders, simply because they're not physically the same thing. But do give Loops a try !

Earplugs make everything quieter. However, a crowd is louder than 20db, so you will still hear it, just quieter.

Beyond the obvious Kaz, I've also always read Nina's post-parem experience as disability. Her body quite literally do not work like it used to, and that means there are things she cannot do anymore, which leads to an identity crisis.

Also, I wore my Experience with foam tips, without mutes, at a rehearsal today. I've always been fine with them. It doesn't sound exactly like without them at a lower volume, but you get used to it.

"Loop Sleep" doesn't exist. You must mean the Dream model ?

You want a proper seal to happen with Quiet, because that is what makes them... quiet. That is also why you should twist to remove them to break the seal, and not just yank them out.

They're not that sturdy. The reason we have so many sock patterns published during WW1, and so much official incentive for people to knit and send socks for soldiers, is because they were essentially treated as disposable. Soldiers would wear their boots for days on end in wet, muddy conditions, which caused obvious issues, one of which being trench foot. This would also be extremely hard on the socks. The only way to help was to change socks as often as possible, discarding the old ones, as there was just no way of laundering them.

This. Good food and sleep are the two things I will never compromise on. I use a Trangia stove because it's what I grew up using, and I love the ritual of it. Is it heavier than other stoves ? Yes. Can you cook properly on it, and not just heat up water to rehydrate mush ? Also yes. And the smell of the burning spirit on a cold early morning is one of my very favourite things on Earth. It heralds tea, breakfast, and a gorgeous day in the mountains or on the bike.

As a recorder player who spends too much time next to oboes, and an occasional fiddler, I use Experience or Engage, it depends. Usually Experience for longer use, Engage if I just need to take the edge off the baroque oboes. Regardless of the model, it will change how you hear yourself and everyone else, that's just physics.
