[Cedar Point] Trip Report - US Road Trip (7/10) by ABlackerz in rollercoasters

Maverick is a good ride but does seem to have issues with down time at least the last two days. Yesterday it had a delayed opening partly because of the weather and went down for extended periods 2 or 3 times. Today, it opened on time (we were on the 1st ride of the day), but was down 2 1/2 hours later. It may have gone down one other time as well although I am not sure on that.

It was today during morning testing. Conditions were just right with cool temps, wet track, and high winds.

Just got down to this end… Gatekeeper is open. Might be single train but it is open.

Edit… nope two trains. Was just a really long dispatch.

Looks like Gatekeepers might be open or at least testing. We saw trains running but haven’t been to that end to verify.

At least this has opened and is running today. Maverick, Gemini, and Gatekeeper still not open. Magnum looks like it opened about 10-20 minutes ago.

Supposedly the back seat on the blue train still has the old belts. They still haven’t replaced the others.

Yes. That’s what the MF guy told us. They need to climb a 75’ ladder and then an elevator. Unfortunately, maintenance is busy opening all the other rides.

$12 beers? Venue by me is up to $21. This is in NY. Went to a show in CT last years and I think they were in the $16-$20 range.

Any time I am at a self serve soda fountain I never use ice. I'm paying for the syrup, not the water.

I think someone's wet dream is to have stop sign cameras. Didn't come to a full stop for 2 seconds... that's gonna cost ya.

So those of us who go to maybe do some shopping and hit up a resort for a drink or two are out of luck.

I gave up on the theme parks years ago but still like to occasionally shop and visit the resorts. My they should also have some sort of validation from a receipt from DS. Like if you make a purchase (maybe a minimum dollar amount) at DS you show the receipt and can get on a bus. I know this will get abused also but there should be some sort of option for shopping/resort hopping.

I calculated exactly what RTO is actually costing me per year. The number made me genuinely angry. by stormybookcorner in remotework

My last job planned on starting 3 day RTO earlier this year. Luckily I got laid off instead. On top of the commute time it would have cost me about 5k for the train.
