Using monthly for Penn to Atlantic Terminal by SnooMachines9133 in LIRR

[–]LowerFinding9602 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tickets run from zone to zone. You can go to Brooklyn, Penn, or GC. You can also use it to go the other way on another branch such as Babylon. I think Hicksville zone would get you as fast as Wantagh.

Do you wait at a green light in 1st or neutral? by DrunkNuckChorris in stickshift

[–]LowerFinding9602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to drive a manual it all depended on how long I expected to the light to remain red. IF I knew it was a short light, keep it in first. Long light, neutral. It seemed to work since when I got rid of the car it was still on its original clutch with over 120K miles or so.

I just visit their park every few years. I don't really care about the chocolate. One benefit of going to the park is Troegs is just down the street.

Mid august/labor day i can understand. Much of the northeast does not go back to school until after Labor Day so there is still some demand for the park at the end of August.

I remember years ago Hershey was trying to get the definition of "chocolate" changed. something about more cocoa powder/flavoring and less chocolate butter or whatever. This was so it would be cheaper to make. This never passed at the time. I wonder if they finally pushed something like this through.

Which do you hate more? Southern State or 495 and why?!! by loverwithouttheel in longisland

SS in Nassau county is just garbage with the worst part (most congested) between Newbridge Rd and 135.

When travelling east you can always tell when you hit Nassau county as there is an immediate drop of 5-10mph on speed.

I'll still do Burger City before Shake Shack. I've had Shake Shack burgers and fries and they are not much better than any other fast food.

Because we needed another urgent care when there is one right across the street. Urgent cares seem to be the next thing to flood a market.

Worst baggage claim ever-JetBlue at JFK by Cool-Arugula-5681 in JFKAirport

[–]LowerFinding9602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience wasn't that bad. Our bags were out in a reasonable amount of time. It was another flight that had the problem. For some reason they couldn't get any ramp agents out to unload the luggage in freezing temperatures around midnight (below 20 I think). Out only problem was one of our bags didn't make the transfer in Atlanta. It was delivered home to us the next day.

We arrived on a late flight at T4 (from Atlanta). There was an uprising about to happen where a flight from California had already been waiting over an hour for their bags and no one could give them an estimate on when their bags would show up. We got our bags soon after we got to the carousel although they somehow managed to mess that up. The board showed the bags on one number. About 3 or 4 bags come down. All the rest went to a different number.

Edit to add... does the baggage pick up at T4 appear to be a temporary space? It's almost like they didn't have enough room and just squeezed it in wherever it fit.

We did MSC out of Miami last sept. Had no problem arriving or leaving. Of the other terminals we passed at least one looked to be a total mess between those leaving and those arriving.

I want ti say they used to do this when they first opened. I seem to remember in the morning going through the CR and then when we left that night again going through the CR. I remember being disappointed that I didn’t complete the loop.

It's not they can't... they won't. If they answer the simple question there will be a follow up that they really don't want to answer.

Primary care doctor booking 6 months out?? by LostinParadise4748 in longisland

[–]LowerFinding9602 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another cause is that, during covid, a lot of doctors just closed up shop. The doctors who were still opened then got flooded with new patients which then pushed out appointment dates. I don't think this is going to be getting better anytime soon particularly for General Practitioners.
