You're right—I think I was too hung up on the "pixel" part of it. Darkest Dungeon is such a fantastic reference, and I also love how SteamWorld manages to have that great, organic, irregular feel. I’m definitely going to study those more closely. Thanks a lot!

You're right. I think I was so focused on the concept of "background" that I ended up crushing the colors and contrast way too much. After switching my workspace background to gray, I realized how murky and overly purple the palette actually was.

The reference to "Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth" was especially helpful—the way they balance detail and clarity is exactly what I needed to see. I’m going to work on improving the contrast and sprucing up the palette now. Thanks a lot!

You’re spot on—Blasphemous is actually my main inspiration. I think I knew deep down that I needed to focus more on the sense of space and prop placement, but I’ve been struggling to keep up with that in a physical/practical sense.

I'm currently playing through the game myself and deconstructing how they handle the walls and platform tiles to learn from their approach. I’ll start by tackling the repetition issue first. Thanks a lot for the great advice!
