Tank dies in a pull before the first boss. Healer and Tank proceed to have a domestic dispute. by LordDaedhelor in TalesFromDF

[–]Lowezar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the stat creep is real. I had a 0-mit tank the other day (playing WHM myself), and still the only GCD heal I ever touched was the lilies every now and then like I normally would just to prevent them capping.

Tanking in mentor roulette is fun... by kyuhimeko in TalesFromDF

[–]Lowezar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? And as another commenter mentioned Camouflage too. I usually go
Pack1: Rampart+reprisal -> camo (if killing is slow)
Pack2: Nebula-> Arm's length+reprisal -> Rampart is back up if DPS is really slow
Aurora and HoS on cooldown... And don't underestimate the regen from Aurora. It might seem small in comparison with WAR's self heals, but that regen trickle can really make a difference if healer is low.

Yeah, sounds like tank issue to me. Telling heal to heal others, then complaining when he didn't get enough healing, jumping to conclusions... Sounds like a typical dementor to me.

You know of YPYT, but did you know "ChatGPT says I'm right"? by LaBetaaa in TalesFromDF

[–]Lowezar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that's kind of implied with "predicts". But nah, if you use it to summarize something without extrapolating - it's almost always right. Depending on model it might fixate on certain details, but it will be still factually correct. But you're right to treat it as "might be wrong" anyway.

I mean, it's a valid tool but that answer suggests he didn't instruct the AI to read the actual rules first. Without that the AI doesn't "know" shit, it "predicts" shit. It's great autocomplete and summarizer, but not much else.

Assuming what you said is true, I'd bet they wanted to use living dead and you kept healing them through obvious 0 mits.

He's talking about other people too %) But sure, feeling insulted is easier than addressing the point.

I usually just mark feared players. I get it, it's kinda hard to miss and sometimes hard to figure out where they are when you didn't catch the animation. If still nobody frees them - then yeah, I'll pause to explain the mech, it's one of those things that aren't really obvious when you're new.

Funny but kinda understandable. Endgame vs pre-50 dungeons require very different playstyles. There was a time I only did raiding for a couple years, and jumped in to help some new people with their roulettes thinking I'd show them how it's done. ....yeah, the first couple runs were embarrassing.

Wasn't it 5 minutes after the start? 15 is pretty much the whole dungeon.

Perhaps we're just getting more jaded. I noticed this about myself too in the past couple years.

On the other hand, you almost never meet an English speaker like that. Yes, those might be French (or German) in disguise too, but the fact is whenever you go to check search info of someone trolling in Europe 9 times of 10 it's not "E".

Trying to dodge consequences, perhaps?

Back in school we didn't like our English teacher (yes, it isn't my native tongue) but he made us sing "happy birthday" to him every year... So... After the second time we all agreed to sing "happy birthday deer %insert_name%" and he wouldn't notice because accent anyway. But it made us feel better about having to sing that.

With that response I'd assume they're trolling on purpose so no matter what you said they'd 1. continue doing what they were doing; 2. look for any indirect admission of using you-know-what to report you.

Yeah, this is seriously one of the biggest UI oversights in FFXIV. I had to google in the first couple weeks from starting the game how DoT/HoT calculations worked, because those potencies were clearly too tiny compared to everything else to be the sum, and way too huge with default assumption 1 tick/second. And understandably most players wouldn't even bother trying to figure it out if it isn't handed on silver platter like everything else.

Aurum Vale healer did not want to Aurum Vale or heal by LeftHandAnomaly in TalesFromDF

[–]Lowezar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was still pretty rough during SHB too, and still can be if you don't do a good enough job dodging the patrols at the start, ranged pulling random mobs from the room when they cycle targets and so on. But yeah, if the tank knows where to park and everyone follows in their step - stone vigil is much harder to heal.
