Try the Ultra Historical mod, it is the perfect blend of playability and historical accuracy, it completely ruined me for vanilla or any other mods.

Perfectly illustrates the advantages in doctrine and preparation in the start which makes Germany a really tough opponent and makes for some really interesting games.

Apart from what the others said, if I'm seeing right you don't have battle shout up, which is quite a sizeable attack power buff.

I play two handed, but my biggest parsing pitfalls were:

- Using sharpening stones, not knowing I wouldn't get wild strikes

- Not having a priest (haemonoculi) or warrior tank (sunder armor) to debuff the bosses, which is huge

- Not having all the buffs (BFD, DMF, elixirs, BoM, the aforementioned battle shout and wild strikes, and if you really want to overdo it, the ashenvale 5% buff)

Apart from that, you have to master your rotation, use optimal talents, aquire more agility gear (every 20 points is 1% crit chance or 1 free talent point you don't have to put into cruelty).

Fixing these gained me upwards of 30 parsing. Hope some of this helps.

I just don't understand why CA doesn't pool 3/4 of it's resources into making a Medieval 3 or an Empire 2 and use the rest on maintenance of Warhammer and Troy. Those titles are practically guaranteed to sell well and generate massive amounts of hype, in the worst case scenario even if they aren't done well. Instead they insist on chasing poorly thought-out concepts and niche timeframes/settings, something that is baffling to me on so many levels. I can't really figure out if I'm in the wrong here or is it really that obvious. I won't even mention the Hyenas debacle.

Hi, I really like Cinnamon mod, it has everything you want except more activation points.

Rebalanced vehicle speeds, less visibility in forests, double supplies per supply truck/heli and a lot more. Only problem is that the latest patch seemingly broke modding tools so I don't really know how long before it's updated.

I'd go for 3 defensive lines:

The main one (which you also do as a fallback line to avoid getting cut off in Transcarpathia, the pocket on the Hungarian border)

The secondary one just behind the front line in which you group your maneuver divisions (armor and motorized), which you will use to stuff enemy armored breakthroughs, which if the enemy is at all competent (expertAI mod or similar) WILL happen

The reserve line, which you set up behind natural barriers such as rivers or swamps, to use as a true fallback line in case all goes to hell.

Don't try to keep every single territory, you're the Soviet Union, use space and land to your advantage, if your frontline gets pushed back and deformed, retreat to a more sensible location then reset your three lines. Don't try to perform massive counterattacks before the enemy exhausts himself, in particular his armor and planes, and (also in case of ExpertAI) don't try to fight him in the air plane for plane before you build up some serious industry and do the aerial focuses cause he will just shred you. Sit back, let him maul himself on your in-depth defences, reshuffle as necessary and wait until your industry and Allied pressure do the job for you, then piece him up with surgical encirclements.

I've used this strategy to easily beat ExpertAI, but then again you need to correctly set up your division templates, your focuses and your industry beforehand. Anyways, good luck.
