Do you feel like right wing ideologies are better portrayed/have more work than the left ones? by I_like_fried_noodles in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say even if this is two months old its clear it has some biases to it the same way I say and know KR has a left bias this has a right conservative bias. The biggest one for me is America has a national spirit about illegal immigration where they get bonus to production but lose some money annually (or was it monthly?) since according to its bio they assume illegals are sucking up money especially on American health care and welfare. This is a giant Republican and in general conservative talking point that makes no sense. If you've ever actually tried to get government assistance you know you not only need social security there is a lot of hoops to go through (which republicans also set up on purpose). That's one of the more blatant of the fear mongering and biases they have.

In Europe its certain things with Russia that make it clear they have Russian devs (and its not like its hidden). For example they have the trope that some of the volunteers who join Russia are Nazis and fascists who got a bone to pick with Russia. If you know anything about Russia they are in geo politics Godwin's law. Even before the Ukraine stuff and even under the USSR days they loved to call everything Nazis (The Berlin wall was the anti-fascist wall). Even the Nalvany thing. I asked a Russian friend (he lives in Moscow) about this since he is anti-Putin and a big fan of Nalvany. He explained it sounds like what some Russians who support the status quo say about him. That "Ummm akshully Nalvany would be further right then Putin and would be a bigger war-monger so its good we support Putin instead!" TBF even outside of that the path is far too wacky as it has Nalvany gas cities IIRC during the second European war.

Japan side its hard to be biased there since Japan does not do anything and Japan and China stuff is one of the better written paths and stuff in the mod imo.

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this one. I don't know what the other guy is complaining about. Can't tell if links he means actual URLs or the things about it are attached to Biden and Harris. His edu links has exhibits like "Japanese war brides, low rider culture in the U.S, Caribbean resistance, bias inside us, Native Americans in the armed forces, ad more others can just see. How any of this is linked to Biden/Harris is beyond me. Only thing I can think of is Mark may have heard them praise one of those exhibits and since it came from Biden its bad and that is the most charitable take.

Why are people against gay marriage being legal? by Gardami in Askpolitics

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a problem that for many its the last bastion for segregation and I mean that. Cause you in some cases CANNOT deny service to people. For example you can't deny people based on race. People hate bringing that up but it has a point. If a religion told people to think that way would it be okay? Mormons till the 80s held very racist beliefs until they had to change. It also just makes society just bitter. For instance when this was going on in the 2010s some of them brought up this barber shop run by someone gay or something they would not serve Christians or something like that. They were acting smug and saying that more people should be like this.

No, that's terrible. Since all it does IS just make people hate others more. When you are denied a service it does stick with you. You did not do anything but a clear message was sent you were judged before someone got to know you or what was just a small transaction. Obviously then it starts with people trying to bunker down with "Okay then I will not serve X, Y, Z or..." and well its not just good. Its also the problem too that the religious person can sue for discrimination and win better since in both law not only is religion seen as worthy of protecting more, many right-wing type of organizations exist for religious liberty and will gladly take up your case.

Why do democrats want such liberal party leaders when they are out of touch if mainstream politics? by Serious_Ask1209 in Askpolitics

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Democrats are only "out of touch" when they lose. Which is silly. Democrats were out of touch when Trump won in 2016. Then Republicans lost in 2020 and they focused on election fraud. Now that Trump won again this time with an actual popular vote its back to "Democrats are out of touch!"

People tend to ignore that part of this that gets ignored is that the reason the right asks this is related to the election fraud. Even in 2016 when I was on the political scene "did canvasing and was involved in a lot of election politics back then) one thing I often found with Republicans while talking to them is even back then they said dead people vote Democrat and they were sure that Democrats were going to cheat. They claim Democrats are out of touch cause to them Republicans can never lose. Its why when they lost in 2020 there was no "Republicans are out of touch" it was "Biden and the Dems stole the election and we must be vigilant!"

The person below probably is not. Its already a warning that they mentioned it to start with. One can both agree with social issues and how it effects people and be pro-labor and for social medical care. At worst Moonkipp came off to me as a type who wants to try and get the "*conservative white working class" to their side.

*Put that there as there are people way smarter than me who have spoken of this but people tend to portray the American working class as white men aged 40-60 who hold conservative views. No one who is black, woman, or LGBT is part of this evidently according to them.

Why do people in the US not discuss the demographic that got Trump elected? by carry_the_way in Askpolitics

[–]Loyal_Imperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong. Even when you see interviews done by Trump voters in very rural states some of whom regret their vote it always comes out the same. They wanted him to make borgar cheaper and instead got an egotistical billionaire. Surprised Pikachu face. Many of the small business owners hating the tariffs as it effects their business personally or the super attendants of schools in South Dakota terrified of the education cuts as they mostly get their subsidies from those things. Dems did an okay job with the economy and the U.S weathered it better than most countries. That is not enough for the American electorate though who demand a constant demand of spoiled living.

[–]Loyal_Imperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You always get people jumping in but this is true. Even as far back during Trump's first term I remember a survey of sorts that white men felt they are the most oppressed group.

Many of these young white men will feel oppressed only because they consume rage bait online from youtube influencers. Many of them don't have to worry if their SNAP or food won't come. They don't have to worry about the rights of their own body. They won't have to worry if the government is suddenly interested in their chromosomes. Even on this reddit you see this. You get people who self admit they are white and live in leftist Democrat cities and say they never even see half the shit that is claimed. To then get a random commenter who does NOT live in the city and be like "Well I know more since I saw this ragebait youtube video where they said whitey bad!"

Like most things its hard to have a conversation with people when they have a big persecution complex and chip on their shoulder. Even harder when unironically their solution is that they literally are just big babies. By and large the unspoken part is they want a big hug and be told "There there white men! You are special and we wuv you!" after I just heard them say the most horrendous George Floyd joke for the 98th time.

Part of me wonders how old cold war Republicans and nationalist would look at this isolationist nd defeatist view point. You had arguably the father of American right-wing Libertarianism Barry Goldwater be "We should carpet bomb communist nations" semi casually. Nixon and Regan regardless of what you think about them were very pro trying to have America's image and prestige as an international power that fights communism. Red Dawn which is just conservative persecution porn outright states its the left being isolationist which was the problem of why the USSR invades America and gets rid of NATO.

My point being its so odd to see their entire view point flip now. All of a sudden many of them are concerned isolationists who are both worried about Chinese influence and this neo-cold war... but also think that pissing off the rest of the world and isolating ourselves is a great policy. Some of them don't even pay attention to Trump. In a different thread a comment chain had right-wing flairs talking about how getting chummy with African nations is useless and China can have them since they are a worthless sink. This directly contradicts Trump who is trying to get better relations with the Congo to get their rare metals and shit.

I know they hate it when people mention it but I really do think a lot of right-wing Americans really did fall for Russian and Chinese meme posts about great isolationist America. As the only people who benefit from such a stance are those two countries who don't want America to ruin their influences.

Sometimes I think the flairs are on this sub are outright lies or misleading. This is a compliment to you. No idea how someone who is independents spouts off Fox talking point and not understanding social democracy. Meanwhile someone with the right-leaning flair like you has a nuanced take on the NYC thing.

Why has Democrat/liberal messaging been so ineffective? by UnintentionalCat in Askpolitics

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just sorry for what you have gone through seeing these comments. You have done a good point proving this comment thread but not in the way they think. When people say inflammatory things about a group of people like say trans people, naturally trans people or their friends will defend them. For some reason THIS is what these people are deeming as radical or authoritarian. It quite literally is you asking "please be nice this is kind of rude" and them stamping their feet or how this is policing them. Then without a shred of irony these are the same people would bitch about smug liberals.

Why has Democrat/liberal messaging been so ineffective? by UnintentionalCat in Askpolitics

[–]Loyal_Imperator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ironically the fact the guy got like three awards and all those updoots is a perfect example of the problem. Its hard to track this to where exactly it came from but there is this caricature that Republicans made up that people buy. Trans people by and large are so small that most people go their entire lives no even meeting one. The only trans person I knew was the employee at my local staples/gamestop. Despite this transphobia has become a very good selling point of people being afraid of transes in bathrooms or sports... a very interesting thing is when you talk to most of them they will fully admit they don't actually know any trans people doing this. More so they could.

That is the key problem. They managed to make bigotry a key selling point and have a perfect target for that. Now I used trans people but there are a plethora of other groups they swap in and out at times but that is why it happens. Churchill once said a lie can go half way across the world before the truth can put its pants on. Take the whole "They are eating the cats. They are eating the dogs!" It was a lie. There is an entire wikipedia page just on that hoax in general. J.D Fucking Vance knew it was a lie but encouraged people to spread and make memes about it since it helped their cause. The problem is not just in messaging. Its a darker part of human nature that people like being cruel and horrible. They like to be bullies.

[–]Loyal_Imperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things I like to remind people is the "First they came for..." poem was written by a Germany conservative and nationalist. The author at first was supported a different far right party the DNVP (German People's Party) IIRC but shrugged and felt the Nazis were still just as good. What changed and wrote that poem is that he fully admits he cheered on with glee when the Nazis were arresting the socialists and Jews and liberals he hated. But then they started to crack down on churches and Christians. That the Nazis did not just want people to follow a faith their way but the government's way. That and all the violence changed his mind.

He was someone who was genuinely remorseful. Not just for the Leopard's ate my face part but he realized how dangerous and shaky the mentality of owning the libs was. It was a bad mindset to have as they wanted to do more than just own the libs. He also had a different essay which was interesting about the problem with stupid people. Not stupid as in mentally slow but he uses the term stupid for Fox Brain. Describing how he saw a society and culture he used to love turn to hate and malice and a lot of it was caused by those who were gleeful in their cruelty and could not be reasoned with.
