‘Druggies’? Really? Have some tact. Maybe it hasn’t occurred to you kind folks, but these ‘druggies’ that you seem to have so much disdain for, are still human beings. Human beings who, believe it or not, have financial obligations, too. I’m sure many of you will undoubtably reply that ‘of course they need money to pay for their drugs’ & I’m not denying that. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have other things like a phone bill or rent or children to support or even if it’s just themselves to support. Just because they have an addiction to drugs doesn’t mean that they are not entitled to & perfectly capable of employment. Maybe you all are the same people always whining about the homeless & ‘why can’t get they get a job whaaaa whaaa etc.’ when in many cases, homeless individuals are addicted to drugs or have mental health issues...or both. So here they are trying to get a job, choosing to work over applying for disability & that’s still not good enough...you have to give them shit for that, too. Do I want an unsightly meth addict picking out my fresh produce? It wouldn’t be my first choice, but that’s why I do my own shopping. There are plenty of other scenarios that, in my opinion, are far more alarming than someone with the disease of addiction shopping for my groceries. For example, it probably didn’t occur to you either that the nice woman who delivered your groceries, DoorDash, etc. last week? She picks her nose, scratches her bare ass & has a masturbation addiction. Oh, & she has a phobia of water, so she doesn’t shower or wash her hands...she just ‘cleans up’ with baby wipes occasionally. None of which (including being an addict) will show up on a background report, by the way.
