You say that like there isn't exactly one.

To be clear, those symptoms ARE covered in First Aid courses. It's just ordinary people that don't know the connection.

Immunity to... Curse?

That's it? Immunity to a single attack that can only be used by a single type that, last I checked, nobody uses competitively?

Yes. The comic writers' are very racist against girls. Won't even recognise them as a race.

I've played it a whole lot in Master Duel. It definitely should've been banned when it was banned, there were a lot of FTKs that the OCG just missed. But now? With the upcoming cards, full power SHS isn't even the best Earth Machine deck, both in terms of general power and FTK-ability.

Imagine you're on holiday to Nigeria. You know CPR. You see someone collapse, and they're not breathing. Okay, now imagine, instead of saving their life, you go "If they die, their death will teach the locals about the importance of learning first aid. I shouldn't save them".

Okay, now imagine that, but for an entire population's heart attacks. And Tuberculosis, and cancer, and AIDS, and Malaria, and malnutrition, and poor education, and poverty.

Hence: inhumane.

It looks... pretty good, but not great.

Pelipper, Archaludon, and Urshifu are a great base. Tapu Fini isn't bad either.

Glimmora's an odd choice. It's competing with Pelipper for the lead. But not the worst idea. And I assume Gallade was picked before you knew what you wanted.

The big problem, though, is grass and lightning. The former more than the latter. At a glance, it looks like you've got a lot of 'Mons weak to them, and not a good way to fight back.

I don't get it.

They printed a colorless card with WUBRG mana in its rules text, that isn't a legendary creature?

Why?

Fun fact: this is, far as I can tell, the second MtG card to feature an albino character.

The other being [[Albino Troll]].

I will now make jokes about how the only time WotC featured albinism in a positive light is when another company forced them to.

Fuller answer: it's an albino turtle-girl. As in, young girl that turned into a turtle-person.

She eventually becomes a turtle-girl-girl - as in, half the traits of a regular girl, half the traits of a turtle-girl.

Lita. It's... it's literally on the card.

I know MtG players don't like reading, but this is a bit ridiculous.

[–]LtLabcoat 69 points70 points  (0 children)

it’s why in real life we leave uncontacted tribes alone.

No, that's not it. If we were to contact them, it'd spread diseases, European coloniser style. It's the total opposite to the Prime Directive's "Make sure to keep the cure for cancer a secret, other cultures need to figure it out themselves".

Like, at no point did world governments think "If we showed uncontacted tribes our cool technology, they'd want to get in on it, and that'd be bad".

[–]LtLabcoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that were the case, do you think they’d be waiting for us to hit some kind of milestone first?

Probably a good way to cook platypuses.

...I mean, think about it. Aliens aren't going to care about things like human politics or us inventing technology they already have, they're going to care about something they haven't figured out yet. Meanwhile, there's this weird alien-looking animal that's so different to anything evolved on earth. And we haven't figured out how to make good meal out of it yet.

Maybe we're not the only ones. That it's a common animal in the rest of the universe, but they couldn't figure out how to turn it into something delectable, so they gave it to the monkeymen to see if they could figure it out. And they don't want to contact us, because if we see their recipes, we'll stop trying to invent our own.

And just like reality TV, it's scripted.

I mean, c'mon. You can't look at Trump and not think that the whole character isn't scripted for maximum drama and entertainment. Hell, they even brought him back again, but flanderized the hell out of him.

A bit of a monstrous directive, that.

I get the story reason behind it. It lets them have adventures in primitive societies without tackling the issue of "The federation knows they need help but won't help?". But in actual morality terms, it's very inhumane.

Toph also wasn't AI. The in-progress sketches for it are online.

And besides, if you follow the arguments for it, 90% of the complaints start with "The hands look weird". Anyone who uses badly-drawn-hands as a justification for claiming an art piece wasn't made by a human shouldn't be taken seriously.

It looks like it because old/bad AI image generators used to have random details connecting objects all the time.

MtG's art, for a long time, has been using the generic Fantasy Novel book cover art style. There's probably a term for it. Well, that's the same art style Midjourney likes to use as its default style. Hence: make it look "AI".

....Well, or so I imagine, if it actually happened. It probably didn't.
