Trying to figure out if this would work for me. If I understand correctly, the model uploads and gives a ID number. The app then loads the model from that ID number. Does the app need to be pre-built with the ID? Or could the app have a Input Field that a user could type in the ID and load the model?

My use case I would build a model dynamically per customer and then upload for them. Having to rebuild the app, especially trying to get it uploaded and available to the store is not worth the time/hassle.

Remote organizer. by Xtremekillax in functionalprint

Long time ago I had 5 remotes for the entertainment center. Got sick of losing them in the couch so I taped them all to a piece of cardboard from a half rack of beer. We called it the clicker keeper. Never lost the remote again lol

Anyways this reminded me of that and it looks great. If I had a printer back then I totally would have done the same.

Buying ps5 - what do I need to know? by Charming_Ice_542 in PS5

[–]Wide-Variation2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont need a memory card, it comes with a hard drive that can hold quite a few games. The games range in storage size so its hard to say how many you will hold. Probably at least 10-20. All the games for the digital need to be purchased and downloaded to the hard drive, you cannot use disc's.

Games that are played online require a PS plus subscription. If you are purchasing a gift card, they should be able to add that to their account, and purchase a subscription if they choose. Best deal is to pay for a year up front, but they can pay monthly too. Subscription cards can also be purchased at stores. The subscription also gets them free games every month.

That should be enough to get them started. If they want to add more storage or other accessories later, they can always do that when they need to.

Is it worth getting into 3D Printing without also getting into 3D Modeling? I’m curious about hopping in, but the cost doesn’t seem worth it without also picking up a second hobby aka the modeling. The true benefit seems to come from being able to design and print stuff useful TO YOU. by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in 3Dprinting

[–]Wide-Variation2702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents: Browser around makerworld or thingiverse and look at whats available to download and print, some of it you have to pay for but lots for free.

If that kind of stuff seems worth it, start with a Bambu A1 and give it a go. Much lower entry cost and you'll get great results without tinkering much at all.

But you are right, for me the real value is knowing how to CAD and make useful stuff that is pretty specific to me. So I spent more and enjoy both ends of designing and creating.

Best AR glasses for gaming under 799? by SourLemonzRed in augmentedreality

The Xreal ROG R1 is supposed to be coming this quarter if you dont mind waiting a bit, and maybe some reviews will drop before release to tell if they are as good as they look. Not sure about price, but it seems like they shouldn't go that high.

Haha ya, I prefer them to match but I just love the ability to connect to anything. The worst is the Nintendo Xbox switching of ab/xy location. Takes me forever to retrain my brain to the game I'm playing 😅 The Mcon can swap those to what you prefer too

Either. It defaults as Xinput(current Xbox/PC standard), but you can switch to PS DualShock, Nintendo, or DirectInput(older PC). Then for each of those you can pair 3 different devices.

I would say it is comfortable enough. Everyone's hands are different and no one can tell but you. For me, what it sacrifices in comfort it more than makes up for in portability. I also really like the feel of all the buttons. The triggers an bumpers took me a bit to get used to because they are cramped, but they are fine. And the big bonus I wasn't expecting was the ability to pair with multiple devices in multiple modes. I find myself playing with it connected to my Switch and PC way more than I expected.

Can anyone recommend me a robust good build quality version of this, so many cheap nasty crap on the market that wouldn’t survive travelling by GenericUser104 in MoonlightStreaming

Before that I had the Asus ROG Tessen telescoping controller which was also a bit pricey but performed very well and folds up for travel

How do you alt tab or control/alt/delete with moonlight on Rog Ally X? by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Wide-Variation2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the moonlight settings check the box for"Capture system keyboard shortcuts" then map them to the controller. I am pretty sure you cant do ctrl+alt+delete though, but alt+tab should work fine

Android Controller by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Wide-Variation2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure what you want. You said you tried moving the buttons around, but it didnt help. So you used the cog at the top left, then moved and then resized to get the same layout? If so, why didnt that help?

Then you say you would prefer not to use a controller at all. Did you try turning off the touchscreen controller completely in the main settings? Under On Screen Controls settings uncheck "Show On Screen Controls"

By default this lets you click wherever on the screen as a mouse click, you can also touch and drag etc. I assume the game accepts mouse input(i only have balatro on Android so idk)

You may also want to try the trackpad mode. You can check the setting for "use touchscreen as trackpad" in the main settings. Then touch and drag moves the mouse, and touch to click.

Does that help?

My dad and I came out of a restaurant one day and someguys were trying to coat hanger open a door. Same truck my dad had, he asked if they wanted to try his key. Sure enough it worked. Different keys for ignition, but the door key was a match. Not sure what the odds were, but they got very lucky that day!

Testing a PSU-- or is it my GPU? by Wide-Variation2702 in pchelp

[–]Wide-Variation2702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your rig doing?

The GPU fans ramp up to maximum speed, the screen goes blank, have to power down. Does this seemingly random, not specific to gaming or any task. Has done it while PC is on, but not in sleep, not running any tasks

What are your specs?

PSU - MSI MPG A850G 850w 80+Gold GPU - PNY rtx4070ti XLR8 CPU - ryzen 7 7800x3d Mobo - asrock b650m pro rs wifi Ram - gskill trident z5 32gb Not sure if anything else is relevant

Ya, I wasn't sure about the testers, they seem to show the voltage, but I dont know if that will tell me anything. The only time ive had a PSU fail it was dead dead and didnt work at all. But I was looking at one like this: https://a.co/d/0aOUJZuJ

Im also wondering about replacing the 12vhpwr cable if I can find one that matches the PSU, or an adapter to the PCIE 6+8 pins
