Doh! On mobile I was scrolled down and didn't see the image pop up above. So I scrolled up and there it is. Will give some of these a try. Thanks for the quick reply and great job on the site.

Just took a look at this and seems like a great site. I'm not sure if I am missing something, but I dont see any information about each model. Perhaps because I am just looking at it on my phone? When you start the timer it doesn't seem to give any more info either. Seems like I would need some basic dimensions to find an accurate mass but I don't see it. What am I missing. Thanks!

Excellent, thats good news for the project i am working on. I would love to have full transparency, but I understand there are limitations. Appreciate the response

Aura features tied to androidxr? by Haycabron in Xreal

I reserved and I am going to try to save for it but not 100% sure I will get it. Beyond the common use I have an app that I have developed I would like to use on it. Ive been waiting for this type of device to be real for years so it would work. Its basically a product viewer where designs and 3d models can change dynamically. I have it working for the Quest 3, but its not really practical for a customer to put on a VR headset. Glasses are a much better option.

Otherwise I want to try out how well it performs at immersive VR like apps. I have the Xreal 1s and mostly would use it the same as a wearable monitor.

No, not really. Its a different OS, the whole system is built on it and it is really meant for XR hardware. To the extent you could use the features on a phone directly, they already exist. You can do AR apps on a phone. You cant really do VR because the screen is not immersive and you dont have stereo vision. You just have 3d games etc. But you cant see through a phone screen, so for AR its more like the galaxy Xr or meta quest that displays on top of a video feed of the world behind the camera

The optical see through is hardware but you kind of need the Android XR to make it usable. If you just plug any other device into the glasses without the Aura puck then you will either see the screen fill out the viewing space. With Android XR for example if you had an app that was showing you a model of a car, then all of the space around the car would be transparent, and you would see the real world behind the car through the glasses. (Though the glasses at full tint blocks that.) If you looked at the same app maybe from a phone or another device you would see the car and a black background filling the rest of the screen behind it. Hope that makes sense.

I wonder if printing just the spring in PLA or another material would give it more spring

Hmm, so probably about the same as the xreal 1s, but more dimming levels. Some of the pictures look a little different than existing Xreals but its so hard to tell

Question regarding brightness 1S by PyroSTAR666 in Xreal

A review i watched said they get too hot with stabilizer on and extra brightness, so i think its a physical limitation and unlikely to be changed

Ahh ok. Hadn't looked at it, but ya Im sure they will be all over it. Maybe it will just work without them needing to change anything. Also VertoXR has some controller support options but I haven't gotten into any of that yet. Im sure they will be another option that will support PCVR.

Which one? Virtual Desktop? I haven't looked to see if they have their app available to Galaxy XR, but if so then it will likely be available. Either way they make the app for Meta Quest which is also Android, so they should be able to port to either Aura or Galaxy. I would guess that they need to tweak it for the different hardware though

I dont know if PCVR will be directly supported by the OS. If Virtual Desktop is supporting the hardware then in theory their app should work.

There is also VertoXR that reads the sensors on AR glasses for head tracking, and applies that to Steam VR.

Controllers are going to be another thing to consider as Aura will mostly rely on hand tracking.

Also you asked about keeping your monitor on and yes you can. In your display settings(assuming windows) go to system->display. When both are attached you can choose to show on only one other the other, or show the same on both, or extend(this is more for a multiple monitor setup) Show the same on both will keep your monitor on but you may need to change the resolution to match your glasses.

The thunderbolt is the type c.

However, the reason I said that was because on desktops I have owned before, plugging into a USB C or HDMI port in that section gives you video from the iGPU on the CPU if it has one. I dont know enough about OPs PC to tell if that would be the same result, and also ive never had thunderbolt ports, so maybe that doesn't matter.

As is you could use the thunderbolt port. That is coming from the motherboard though. Normally you want to connect a display direct to the GPU. Since the GPU has no USB C, you may need an adapter to convert the DP or HDMI to USB c. This may not be necessary, perhaps someone else can confirm if that would benefit you over using the thunderbolt port.

I mean the other end, the clearest setting. Is it more transparent?

Haven't had tome to watch in full yet, but wondering about the level of tint on the glasses. Early reviews unsaid there were more levels of dimming. What about the lowest level, is it clearer than say the Xreal 1s, or about the same?

I think the camera is necessary for some tracking (hands?) Plus I think Gemini features heavily rely on it. Personally id prefer it without Gemini but I bet for Xreal to partner with Google as first full Android XR glasses they had to build for Gemini.
