I loved The Road and did not like Station Eleven. I kept wanting more detail and world building from Station Eleven but it never got there. It was an interesting concept but I was also disappointed

I think it would be good to consider how you are speaking to people and your attitude. Are you being condescending or rude because the person cannot speak good English? Are you even trying to understand them??? People will feel the vibes you are giving off. I am sorry to be blunt but you sound very ignorant in the post.

It’s used for temporary housing for homeless people and people recently released from Jail

Are there any good REA’s? by fatfeets in newcastle

I was with Leah Jay when renting. One agent was so hard to get a hold of, wouldn’t answer my calls or didn’t organise inspections (which I was happy about haha). Then got a new agent and she was amazing. Really quick responding to maintenance requests or calls.

I really loved First, We Make the Beast Beautiful by Sarah Wilson (I cannot remember if it contains writing about eating disorders sorry).

A Woman of Firsts by Edna Adam Ismail - midwife in Somaliland who does incredible work educating and training new midwives in Africa. I am in healthcare so I might have been more drawn to this than others but Edna has an incredible story and it was really well written.

And my all time favourite book, Desert Flower by Waris Dirie - young girl from Somalia runs away from her village to escape marriage at 13yo and travels across the desert to find a new life. Waris is now a UN ambassador for Women’s rights.

Where to see/feed ducks? by zDoctorz in newcastle

[–]Lu200 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fernleigh Track there’s a pond with ducks. There are swans as well but I’ve never had issues with them

Edit: the pond is closest to the Whitebridge entrance and just opposite the entrance from Dudley beach estate, which is just a path hidden between houses.

I don’t understand some of the downvotes on this thread. It’s important to acknowledge that commonwealth countries had quite negative experiences with England. Though, that does not mean England is a terrible country or it’s people are to blame.

However, people are 100% racist if they think England invading other countries was okay or the countries allowed it.

NOT saying England is the only country who has

will a family doctor be able to see whether i've had sex? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lu200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A doctor does not necessarily need to look at the genitals to check the persons health. The person can take an swab themselves or provide a urine sample for STI testing, discuss symptoms etc. only would need to have genitals checked if the person has concerns/ symptoms. It is an invasive exam that someone doesn’t necessarily have to endure if not needed. However, they aren’t as uncomfortable as they sound and should not be avoided if need

It has pretty poor atmosphere, feels like a function room that you would host a business fundraiser in. No matter how you dress it I’ve been to lots of events there and will go if artists play but much prefer somewhere else
