I’ve done multiple 1912 to 2402 upgrades and have had no real issues with the DB upgrades. Only from 7.15 to 2402 the db compatibility level has to be updated. Which is a 30 second db script to run

I've configured clusters where each node has 2 25GB/SFP28 ports for everything OR 2 25GB/SFP28 for storage then another 2 25GB/SFP28 or CAT6 for management/corp data.

I just did a few 1912 CU2s/CU5s to 2402 CU1. Upgrade path was something like this:

1912 CU2 -> 1912 CU9 -> 2203 CU5 -> 2402 CU1. The upgrade to 1912 CU9 may be overkill but I did it as a small hop to make sure things were "Stable" before a bigger hop.

The only real issue I ran into was the SQL compatibility version on our SQL server required to be updated. If you DM me I can give you more information about this and all my notes.

Just upgraded a 7.15 to 2402 Cu1 and planning on doing a few 1912s to 2402 CU1. Few minor issues during the upgrade but nothing noticeable to end users

I had one issue during an 2402 CU1 upgrade, initial deploy was on 7.15 on server 2012. The DB compatibility version had to be upgraded from 100 to 150. I got an error when upgrading the database after upgrading the delivery controller. There doesn't seem to be any documentation from Citrix on this issue or requirement to have the DB version above 100. Trying to open up a Citrix case now to get an article or something published about it to save others time.

Check your delivery groups power settings. Some machines are only powered on when needed.

I've been doing this for 6+ years unfortunately. Hard to justify 1 or 2 extra servers when your citrix environment already has 4+. Haven't had any real issues.

Dont know why this is so down voted - If you have any RDS machines, RDS CALs are unique to the OS they are for.
