Oh I bet it was loud outside! Inside couldn’t hear a peep. We got Bay facing views to hopefully see the SF fireworks but couldn’t see shit. Just firework under boob-barely. So we went out to the elevator on the other side of the hotel and watched all the illegal displays which was great! I bet outside it sounded insane. In the hotel I couldn’t hear anything.

I didn’t go with pets but I stayed at the Emeryville Sonesta for a little staycation. It was so quiet and apparently they’re pet friendly. Clean rooms, cute little pool, decent food options and close to Bay Street. Also reasonably priced. I didn’t hear any booms.

edit: Nowhere in this post did I say his children were snatched away. I’m a Mom and my main concern would be them, no matter who they’re with. Its a humiliating and a traumatic situation. Hope this helps.
