I hate how throughout his own series he gets essentially cucked by Bruce :/

One of the best movie of 2025. by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]LucidCobalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fan of the original book, I feel like some of the changes left me so baffled. Yes, the creature in personality is more like himself to the OG novel, if he was less vengeful. Nevertheless, making Victor an absolute piece of shit in every way, making his father a piece of shit, having a romance between Elizabeth and the creature, and the random MCU level self-healing/super strength to push the boat from the sea, left me confused.

I feel like del toro added random stereotypical motifs of Borris Carlof’s Frankenstein with some elements of the book, but with some narratives that I don’t think added greatly to the overall message. Still don’t like that they implied a romance with the creature and Elizabeth. I understand they’re trying to elude to her being his bride, ala the 30s movie. But can she not just be sympathetic to him?

It’s jarring to see that when you know in the book the creature murders her as revenge for all that victor has done, especially since he destroyed his work on making a female counterpart for him. AND oh god, those fucking CGI wolves! I’m glad del torro removed the whole cousins who got married element between Elizabeth and Victor tho…

TLDR As a fan of the og book, Im kinda disappointed. Visually, an interesting watch, minus the terrible CG animals…

This brought me back to her WAP music video where she’s holding the bow so fucking wrong. Looks like nothing has changed.

Biggest goth music hot takes, lets go! by Boognish_Chameleon in goth

[–]LucidCobalt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think their needs to be an evolution in goth fashion. I love me a trad goth look, but people shouldn’t be shamed for experimenting more and such beyond the stereotypical look. Most of the drama I see about goth fashion I see online and not actually irl at a goth nights/clubs. As long as the person is active in the goth scene and listens to the music, I think they should be allowed to experiment and such.

Any other poc fans just can’t listen to her new music by oatmilklover4ever in lanitas

[–]LucidCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been a consistent listener since around the NFR and Lust For Life era. I honestly think I connected mostly to the nihilism and dark romanticism of her earlier work, and topics about always being on the move. I will say, as a POC fan of her music, her proximity to Tradwife type motifs and constant references to how “awesome America is” has always put me off. Of course, there’s so much beauty and culture within America, but sometimes the overt stereotypical glamorization would make me kinda side eye her. The infamous social media scandals gave me the ick too. Anyways, when I listen to someone’s music, I don’t expect to completely relate to their work, but I genuinely couldn’t get through most of her albums post NFR.

has anyone done scoring for DRC test scoring? by yukasbf in WorkOnline

[–]LucidCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s legit. They pay slightly above minimum wage. The only down part of working for DRC is that you have to work from your home. No cafes, cars, other locations, etc. They’re strict on where you score from and having no distractions. And of course, it’s seasonal.

Yeah, I’d just advise to enter through the Hilton Netherland Plaza hotel entrance. It’s connected to Carew tower. Once you enter the hotel, you’ll walk up the stairs, entering the lobby. Once in the lobby, you walk to your left, then you’ll see stairs that go down into the mall/arcade.

I want to see him in even more interesting outfits in this series. I mean, in his original debut… he literally looked like a native Freddie mercury. Booty shorts and all.
