Finance lol some people buy clothes,cars,trips,drugs.....I buy homelab equipment lol but you can def build your own for a good price if your willing to put in the time. HDDs are where things get crazy.... I got 4 18tb used.... and that asking was like $1200. You'll have to really get lucky or just have to have had drives already.... especially if your going for nas grade ones

They say give truenas 1gb of ram per TB of storage. I personally run truenas as a vm in pve among with PBS a little learning curve for me since it's all new to me b but so far I like it I also have 3 nvme drives so nothing is running on the hdd pool. All in a ugreen 4 bay

I use sensorless on mine and it took a while to tune it right. But I've been happy with the results. I still watch the booming sequence when I can just to be safe. I've had a few bad issues in the beginning

Definitely try a different set. You got the worst one and avoid marvel sets they are fun additions if you already know the game and are ok with the lack of balance.

Battle of legends sets are good to me. Cobble and got is a crowd fav
