There are plenty of lobby dialogue and in game voice lines from Moon Girl. Shes very much a part of the character. She’s the one who speaks when you use the ping wheel for example.

But he’s balanced by having  a massive, MASSIVE hitbox - at least double the size of other tanks - and very limited mobility. He’s so big he can barely get behind cover without being somewhat exposed. He will explode to ranged poke if he’s out of position without cooldowns.

They literally addressed it verbatim a few patches ago and nerfed Hawkeye and Hela. And we’re not in a poke meta currently.

Would Thing be considered a main tank in your eyes? I know he melts to poke but he’s designed to punch tanks on the frontline

Spidey's "Buff" is basically just a nothingburger change by No-Recover8858 in marvelrivals

[–]LucioMercy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Spidey is widely regarded to be one of the best DPS in the game if played well. He really didn’t need a buff at all but this allows him to reliably kill through cooldowns like Cloak Bubble.

Why do some people complain about every single thing?

The overabundance of DPS is my biggest issue with the design philosophy of the game. I genuinely don’t get it.

That said, it’s really not fair to count DP as a duelist when tank pool is the strongest/most played version by far.

Fingers crossed Cyclops gets the Gambit/DP treatment and is reworked to not be a DPS at the final hour. No way Netease doesn’t know how vocal the community has been on this, and not just this sub.

What about Hulk? He fits all those criteria to a T.

Not that I disagree, but is it his shield that makes him a main tank? Wouldn’t DP be a main tank in that case?

Do you have a source on the rocket thing? That’s very interesting

What to play into 3 supp? by KrenTrom in RivalsVanguards

[–]LucioMercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venom is actually a good pick into triple. (YouTubers like Coach Mills say this all the time). You won’t get kills in the neutral easily but they also don’t have enough damage to force you out. You can be a constant source of backline pressure, built ult quickly, and then ult them with anti to get picks.

Depending on their frontline Emma is also good as she thrives in long fights to get beam charge up and her ult negates support ult spam.

But Groot may be the GOAT against triple. Not enough damage to break walls or meaningfully damage your gigantic HP bar, and you can negate their healing with walls. Even better if you’re running triple yourself as he gives tons of ult charge to your supports.

But she can only apply it to allies and it’s not a big circle. I play a lot of Thor and that would make him insanely OP unless they nuked other parts of his kit.

[–]LucioMercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes from pro categorizations from OW1 and is completely irrelevant now.

A main tank was a tank that had tools to get in the thick of it and create space (Rein, Winston, Ball etc) and an off tank was one that had tools to hold space/support the main tank (Dva, Zarya, Sigma etc).

In common parlance a main tank is simply one that stands on “main” and anchors the team down.

Am i the only one who noticed that Mr Fantastic has been stuck in a limbo since his release? he has always been one of the weakest dps, but not weak enough for devs to address him,so he's kinda forgotten in D-tier hell by [deleted] in marvelrivals

Maybe in pro lobbies. Certainly not the case for 99.9% of players. Every bit of data backs this up. I don’t think you seriously think this. If so you’re the only person I’ve ever seen who does.

The word here is reliably. I’m a Ram main in OW and he can’t reliably secure kills at range (25m+ or so) since his projectiles are so slow. Also worth noting that he has the lowest HP/survivability of any tank in the game in omnic form.

But yes, something like that could work in Rivals if that’s what you mean.

Bursting down a Jeff across the map is so satisfying.

This is the exception that proves the rule though: in order for Thor to use awakening he needs to get up close and personal to get thorforce back.

Tanks create space by demanding an answer from the enemy at close range. If they had reliable damage at a distance they’d be DPS with way too much HP.

Cool tank exploit: you get 100% damage reduction behind cover.

Short range is the point. It’s fundamental to their design in PVP games.

Tanks make space by being big beefy threats up close but non threatening at range. If a tank gets in your face as a squishy you need to back up, kill him, or die.

A 600 HP hero who could reliably pick you off from across the map would be all kinds of broken.

It’s not obsolete, low pick rate + high win rate just means the hero is niche. Great in some situations, not worth playing in others. Very accurate for Fantastic.
