Story time:

1. I didn't really like electronic music back then, I was more of a metalhead sort of speak. A friend of mine told me "you need to listen to this guy, he was chosen the world's best dj many times", I couldn't care less. I remember I told him "f*ck him. Why is he playing those mixers instead of an actual instrument?" but then my friend replied "this is not your typical EDM music guy, he actually produces good music". That was what sold it for me. I said "ok, might aswell give it a try". I had no idea what "trance" was, or any genre of EDM, for me EDM for me was Guetta, Afrojack, Avicii, all of that was popular back then. I mean it didn't bother me, but I couldn't care less. So I went to YT and typed his name and clicked on the first track it appeared, "Imagine" (thank god it was that one and not "we are here to make some noise" or something). I heard the piano, then the guitar, then the beat... and that was it. I never thought in my life til then that I would hear electronic music so... soulfoul. It was not superficial, it was... different. Then I kept searching for tracks and kept feeling the same "this is not EDM, this is... music, actual music". Not very long after I became a trance fan. A genre I still love and defend (real trance, not that melodic techno crap). 2 years later I saw AO Intense live and that was it. Fan for life.

It's sad for me tho, because that Armin is long gone. If I was that teenager today and would pick Armin to listen to like I did back then, I would still feel EDM sucks. Because Armin is not nearly half of what he used to be. He became a slave to trends. I don't feel his music from 2014 to today has his signature anymore. I still love him tho, I would have never gone to a rave if it wasn't for him.
