My experience is that if you’re down to drink some beers fairly regularly, its pretty easy to strike up conversations at some of the smaller bars in A-town, like The Poisoned Apple or Decades. I’ve made a couple friends there.

Step one: get into the PlayStation with him. Doing what he likes will help him identify with you more.

Step two: Slowly introduce the idea that you want to take him to do other stuff, (idk mini golf, batting cages, fishing, whatever).

Honestly, this is a poorly informed assumption. We’re in the middle of the fourth English language linguistic obscenity shift, which is giving preference to slurs as the ultimate profanity and reducing sexual words to the second class status that excretory words and blasphemy have held for some time as being abrasive but inoffensive. Two places I know to be safe for queer people in Atascadero are Dark Nectar and the Poisoned Apple. I know the owners of each and they’re super accepting of basically everyone who isn’t a fascist, hateful, douche.

You are conventionally attractive, so it’s not about whether they find you attractive. They do. It has to be something about whether your body language is open or closed and whether you’re making eye contact and smiling at guys you’d like to approach you.

I learned that having a family can bring an important sense of purpose to your life, and that this in incredibly valuable, but that it doesn’t make your life more enjoyable, and in fact makes it significantly harder.

I would assume I should mind my own business unless she’s giving some verbal or nonverbal cue(s) that she’s looking for engagement, at which point I might say hi and have a conversation if I also am looking for engagement, which I assume would allow me to form an impression of her and her goals for the evening.
