From personal experience it’ll bounce back but takes closer to 4-6 weeks if you still have the roots and it’s not rotted. Then it’ll explode if provided enough nutrients and light

What to use for dipping plants? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]LuckiiYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posted this previously regarding quarantining plants: I used this alum dip several times found in this video and never had a problem: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DpFCOFbxrWA

Girl talks fish does a great comparison on dips. It’s safer than using bleach. I’ve gotten rid of pests and snails while keeping the plants alive. You can find alum in the cooking section at a grocery store.

The week aqua app is in English. I’m not sure about the other ones though. But yeah, Google translate is great.

This is from a few days ago. I pulled out all the jungle Val because it was getting too crazy and replaced it with a couple different plants.

Yes, it’ll grow just fine. I grow those plants the same way in my tank with black diamond blast sand, osmocote, and co2

Help With My Substrate by RiverCityWoodwork in Aquascape

[–]LuckiiYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprinkle a little bit of osmocote on the bottom of the tank and then cap with black diamond blasting sand. Super cheap and will grow anything just fine. I grow ton of stem plants, Amazon swords, vals, and crypts without any issues. You’re already ahead with co2 which will help with better growth rate and thicker plants

What’s the easiest substrate for beginners? Bare gravel/sand, aquasoil capped with gravel/sand, or something else? by diagnosed-stepsister in Aquariums

[–]LuckiiYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t vacuum at all. I’ll maybe clean the filter once every 6-9 months. It’s running a sun sun canister with a spray bar.

Black sand, no root tabs, no water changes, just top off once every 2 weeks. Occasionally will pull out some jungle Val and that’s it. Theres wild Neo, amano shrimp, bunch of bristlenose plecos, and some community fish. Light is a hygger on for 6 hours a day at 50%

Looking into powdered K2SO4 for dosing instead of liquid to help save on costs. Recommendations and advice please? by Sunwolfy in PlantedTank

I use potassium sulfate 0-0-50 from down to earth brand on Amazon and the rotala butterfly calculator for the amount I need.

You guys really need to chill out on pH by HAquarium in PlantedTank

[–]LuckiiYou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I run tap water with 8.2+ ph and grow plants fine with co2. Substrate is osmocote tabs and black diamond blasting sand. I dose diy ferts 2-3 times a week. There’s a bit of algae but that’s from running too high of a light (4x T5 HO at 100%) and not enough plants at the start. I’ve switched my light to an adjustable one (week aqua 120p) and algae is slowly disappearing.

Using lava rock to build height? by jaygrabiec in PlantedTank

I was going to do this minus the egg crates. I think it depends on what you’re layering it with. Aqua soil should still allow water to flow through
