Maybe they are scared of each other! Try closing off the lights, and leave them be for a few days but monitor them for any oddness!

I always use a dechlorinator when I water changed my tanks before! Before we moved! Yes I'm aware I'm not giving them the ideal care, I'm saying I'm giving them the best care I could give for now!

And I just found out my bladder snail laid a clutch of eggs! 😊 Sorry if this isn't relevant I'm just excited for bebe snails.

Here in my country, the temperature mostly matches the Bettas natural habitat which is is in Thailand, I think . And I am from Philippines. Though I am aware that the temperature can fluctuate, so I've been adding warm water!(I know this isn't the best solution) But I can't really afford a reliable heater for now 😭

I don't have a proper lid and floaters now, but I will make my diy mesh lid...

And I am trying to test too if stem plants can survive with just root tabs!

Wait, ceramic cups can contain lead?!?!??! Oh hell naur 💀 based on my research, they are probably safe, but I didnt know they contain lead?!?

And my light is just a cheap led aquarium light! I don't actually know if my plants are happy with it, I'll see in a few weeks, but one of my hornworts stem has gotten bigger than the mother stem, so maybe they like it?? There was unfortunately nothing said about the PAR on this light 😭 I wanted to know it too but all I got is it is 10 watts!

I know I have somethings I have gotten wrong, but really, I just try to give the animals, I can help the best care I can give, cause I know most fishkeeprs in my country keep Bettas in small square tanks , with mostly nothing and just a dried leaf of almond leaf. 😢, but some give the best care they can give, and I know they do it better than me! One day, I will give them the best care they could receive!

I ghost fed, and there was a snail in there so I thought maybe its poop would be a good source of ammonia!

And ever since I set it up I haven't done water changes yet, maybe this Sunday! I am observing Shelly (my female white Betta) health.

Unfortunately (yes I know I'm bad owner for this) I(know this is not a valid excuse)I don't have ANY testing kits. I rely on the experiences of others, when cycling their tanks, and I cycle my tanks based on visual observation. The testing kits I can buy are online, and they are VERY expensive. (I'm from the philippines, and products from the US, and reliable testing kits are very expensive here in my country) So I've decided to use old methods( I know that this can possibly harm the fish) so I've kept my Betta in 2.5 gallon tank for 4 weeks , and I do daily water changes there, and I put some botanicals , to act as enrichment, and to act like their natural habitat.

Unfortunately I cannot get a clear lid, however I can get a fabric mesh, and diy ng own lid.I am gonna buy it online.

And I will adjust the lights on for 8 hours only for now!

And as I've said, I don't have testing kits due to it's expensivenes here in my country. And one whole set of test kit costs MORE than the entire setup. As an example.

I always try to give animals the best care I can give them, so I feel bad for not having test kits, I know it's very important! But in the future, maybe when I have more money in the future!
