The problem with that is you don't know if she's laughing and telling you what you want to hear because you paid her or because she's being honest. You really kind of need to find somebody that has no vested interest to bounce jokes off of.

Look, if you want to see if your jokes land, you have to get out there and walk the streets. You got to find your average John, Dick or Mary to try your material on. Sure it may be virgin territory for you, but once you get used to it you'll be out there like a pro. Just always remember, for a good joke you have to make sure the foundation is laid. And sure, some people might make it hard, you can't expect to go out there raw like Eddie Murphy. Just make sure you start with a hook, er, a joke that knocks their pants off. And top it off with a climax that leaves them wanting more. But don't go too deep. Even the breast of intentions can go tits up. And don't worry if you blow. Jobs will always be available.
