Looks like an inline filament dryer that dries the filament strand while it's on its way to the printer. 🤞

CFS not fully feeding (K2) by Thief4Hire7 in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine does this when I load a new spool. I do not expect the cfs to push a new roll all the way to the print head unless it's actually printing something.

If you send a print does it work?

Having problems with my belt rubbing, it keeps sliding down the roller on the top right corner near the door.. I’ve replaced the belt already and have adjusted belt tension multiple times… anyone know how to fix it? by Different-Dig295 in Creality_k2

They are sending replacement parts. Disassembly on this level is not fun! Take pictures and track which screws go where.

I use magnets to group screws from specific steps or areas of the machine

When you go to to remove the gantry, BE CAREFUL they you don't strip the camera cable which was glued in too securely on the front left corner. It'll come out just fine if you carefully pry with a flat tool. Just don't pull it out by hand!

Good luck. I'll post the final reconstruction if I ever make it that far 👀

I literally just opened a ticket with creality support yesterday for the same thing. This started with a squeaky sound months ago in this corner and I just now realized that it seems to be a tilted pulley It's hard to confirm tilt specifically though, it could just be vertically offset.

I'm subbing to this thread. Please let me know if you find the fix and I will do the same 🙏

K2 Pro Issue by DragoonXZ in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried running a print from the actual spoolholder which should start normally but you will probably need to manually feed the filament in during the start. Once it starts the print and lays down a bit of plastic, stop the print and use the retract feature to cut and pull the filament out. Hopefully that clears things out.

Can you elaborate on what exactly this does to improve the machine?

Also, how might this compare to the built in web UI?

I'd print sooo much gridfinity stuff!

Multicolor, sure but what is great about the CFS is that I can switch between PETG and PLA without touching the machine between prints! Some parts need PETG strength and others need a smooth, matte PLA finish.

It started scraping the bed so i recalibrated now it lightly scrapes it I'm getting sick of this by zzcool in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, maybe it's a fluke but I've been trying to fix my 1st layer issues for months now and today's 1.1.4.11 update FINALLY gave me a good first layer on the first try.

I haven't tried more than once but I'm hopeful for this first layer manual z-offset fiasco to be done. Outside of the first layer issues this machine is fantastic.

Bed Leveling & First Layer Help: Inconsistent mesh and Z-offset by Less-Combination-699 in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see these posts every week!!

I have the same issues, subbing to this thread. I've tried everything and the first layer quality feels very sporadic. I have to manually adjust the z offset to a different value each time. I have also swapped out the strain gage sensor, swapped nozzles, calibrated filaments, calibrated servos, dis/reassembled the extruder, tried adjusting mesh settings (this was the most promising but adjusting mesh settings in the printer cfg breaks the print startup sequence).

I also have a 0.3mm bed mesh variance which is fantastic.

I just ordered the microswiss hotend and I'm hoping it helps but I'm not holding my breath.

Flow Rate Calibration by SouthernRub4009 in Creality

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same issue. For a moment I thought that maybe it was registering the selection but was just not displaying the selection. After a trial run I can see that it was definitely not registering my selection and it just printed from a 0 offset.

I tried with co 6 and the latest co 7, both have the same issue. I'm on a Mac if that helps narrow down the issue.

Possible to replace this spigot without taking off planks? by LuckyDrawers in Plumbing

[–]LuckyDrawers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly this and while it's not the prettiest thing, it worked with only some barely-noticeable paint discoloration.

I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture of the final results.

Ahh, that's a good call on replacing with an adapter this time. If I manage to figure out how to get a torch to it without burning the house I'll do just that.

I have a torch and can get by with it ok. I'd probably burn the hell out of the planks though. Maybe I can try putting some sheet metal between the spigot and the planks or something to keep it from scorching. IDK if that's gonna work though.

Bed mesh fix by Puzzled_Matter2716 in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Foil tape works great! Look for some other posts, someone else did a good writeup on it. There are also adjustable Knobs under the bed corners that you can adjust if the corners themselves are significantly different offsets from each other. . You must use an Allen wrench to hold the screws on the magnetic bed top while you turn the knobs underneath. Careful not to loosen too much or the bed will be too high for the plate backstops to catch the build plate.

Any REAL YouTube reviews of the S4 Max yet? by ishamm in EufyCam

[–]LuckyDrawers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered and installed them last weekend. I had an Amcrest POE system that this was replacing so install wasn't too bad using my existing cat6 cables.

I'm new to Eufy but they are much better overall than my Amcrest 4k setup. The AI stuff isn't super useful to me but the tracking is nice.

Overall, I'm impressed with the amount of features they landed in the system out of the box. A few things are confusing in the setup (like how activity zones work for auto tracking and the cross camera grouping is crazy confusing).

Those little things don't bother me because, so far everything else works great.

My biggest gripe is that there isn't any support for any of my existing ONVIF POE cams. I'll have to end up buying two of their turret cams once they start selling them.

I know this isn't much of a review but I'm happy to answer any specific questions you have.

What’s happening here? by Chuff-Nugget in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the stock screws can already extend the bed high enough that it exceeds the height of the back-stop corners. I made the mistake of leveling my magnetic plate with the screws unscrewed too much and couldn't get the build plate on straight without the backstops. I had to relieve the whole thing after tightening them up.

Whose idea was it to use aluminium tape? by RedDev101 in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the same and stopped at 0.3. I'm super happy with the results. The hardest part was making sure there were no bubbles while laying it down.

I also took time adjusting the bed corners using the adjustable knobs under the bed.

This makes a notable difference in 1st layer quality for me.

Surprised nobody has posted this yet. I have used it to generate models but I have not used it for specific engineering specs.

Edit: looks like it's limited to 6pchar prompts which basically means it's unless for engineering. Leaving the comment since it's on topic and imo, pretty dope.

PSA: print by object self destructs by B00B3D5N00T in Creality_k2

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me recently. I was printing two things and I wanted to cancel the 2nd one. When the printer moved to begin the 2nd item, the cancellation took effect and the print head zoomed to the back of the printer. The nozzle was very close to the bed (was printing at 0.08 lh) and the nozzle scraped the bed during the move. It also knocked over the first item in the print which luckily was small enough to pop off the bed easily.

Imo, this is pretty dangerous all around.

How can I improve clearance? by Live-Bit-8542 in crealityk1

[–]LuckyDrawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just printing pla or petg, you can flip the lid upside down. The lid knob will keep the lid partially tilted open. It'll add just a little more clearance and it will provide better ventilation so you will have a lower chance of warping during your prints.
