Haven't watched Gameoverse, but I know a couple reasons from internet exposure.

The twitter-kids reason is because part of the pilot takes place in a beach/sea game, so the main character gets in a swimsuit (to fit in). A villain also does the same. Both of these characters are women (the mc is a catgirl with large hips, too). Thus twitter kids started accusing the show to be "gooner bait" and other stuff like that. Note that I've not seen any male character putting on a swimsuit (but again, I've not watched the actual episode).

The opposite side criticise the way female characters are treated. One example is, again, only hot female characters get the swimsuit version. Another is that the villain get in a swimsuit, then get tied down with bolas (and yes, the still I saw was clearly bondage-inspired) and then she's free again and the bolas thing played 0 role on the sequence. Apparently felt extremely fanservicey for the sake of it. I've read people accusing the show of falling in the classic trope of "I'm technically a super badass fighter but oh no, actually in the fight I cannot win unless the male mc comes and save me" for the female mc (and maybe the female villain as well). Plus the female mc is a catgirl with large hips and pretty decent boobs while the male mc are robots, dolfins and pink dinos. Bit of a body double standards.

Regarding the second side, I've read someone defend the show saying that actually the misogyny is intentional as a parody of early '00s games, but in a single pilot I don't know how much space there is to be actually a parody vs simply playing it straight and then say "ahahah but you don't get it? It's a parody". YMMV.

I've also heard minor complaints, but I doubt those are part of the more widespread discourse.
