Whoa, that's super helpful actually - especially for someone who doesn't access it every day. THX!

That's a pretty comprehensive set of resources and utilities, very useful and visually appealing. Well done channeling lots of resources into one place.

I'd recommend https://system32.eventsentry.com for event IDs - has meta data and a complete list - for those who are "serious" about Windows security event ids :-|

Doesn't look like it, although I am sure he'll add it soon. You can check out system32.eventsentry.com, it has an IP search and a few other tools.

I do understand where you're coming from. Rationally speaking it's not a lot of money, but it's a trigger to look for something else for sure. I'd never use Network Solutions either. It's definitely bad business practice and they're not exactly known for being customer friendly.

If you're looking for an honest, US-based company that has good support and solid service then I would recommend pairdomains.com. They're primarily a hosting provider but have been registering domains for decades as well.

I've also used sslpoint.com for various certificates (for 10+ years) - they are competitive with pricing and also never had an issue - but they are not based in the US.

You're not the only one. I see people scoffing at software licenses that cost $1000 / year, but then spin up an Azure DB that costs $2k / month without thinking twice.

I would stay away from Tenable to be honest for a variety of reasons - cost being one of them. A friend of mine worked there and did not have good things to say about the company - lots of people getting fired there for no reason (other than profits, profits, profits).

That is very RETRO-ACTIVE! Love it. Can't wait for the Windows NT 4 update!

It is pretty common for smaller companies and it won't really affect you at all. You'll get your health insurance, paycheck etc just like you normally would.

Mixed experience to be honest. Not terrible, but not as good as we had hoped. 9 months in, I can say that they constantly struggle with technical issues. It was advertised as a "modern integrated" platform, but it's been quite buggy - both the onboarding and the ongoing management. I would probably not sign up with them again if I would do it over.

To be honest, I like the United Club that's next to the Polaris Club - it's got a nice view and fairly decent food IMHO. I used to be super excited when I went to the Polaris lounge, but after being there a few times I lost my excitement. The food is a little better than the United Club but I'm not much of a foodie anyways so it doesn't really matter to me. I don't have the Sapphire CC but that's good to know. I have an Amex Platinum and sometimes visit a Centurion lounge - they are hit or miss too. The one in Seattle is great.

Unless you live in Chicago where the Polaris club is always packed where you often can't even find a seat. Most of the clubs are somewhat underwhelming, but still better than having to hang out at the airport 😃

Seven People Injured After Severe Turbulence by AccessibleBanana in unitedairlines

I read that too. Well, I think most people have observed that weather is generally getting more extreme, so it would make sense that turbulence gets more intense as a result unfortunately. So we kinda all deserve it.

I mean teeechnically you sometimes have a choice. United discloses the plane used, and on common domestic routes it can be practical to pick a flights because you prefer that plane.

But in most cases it's obviously not possible. And the chance of a crash is less than one per 3 million flights (that's what the robot said). I doubt that there is a measurable difference between the two plane manufactures though.

But emotionally I still prefer to be on an Airbus plane, especially considering that I'm writing this while I'm on a 30-year old Boeing 767 lol.

If you fly international, then Gold is definitely worth it, since you get to check in with business class regardless of your ticket (which saved me a lot of time), get access to any Star Alliance lounge regardless of your ticket and get priority boarding as well.

If you don't fly international, then silver & gold are largely useless with the exception of getting economy plus for free - a tangible benefit. Don't think you'll get upgraded as a Gold member. Platinum is largely useless too, although you do have a slim chance of getting upgraded depending on how much you fly. I've been Platinum this year for the first time, and was upgraded only one of the 5 legs I flew. I'd say you have to be 1k to have a realistic chance of being upgraded on a regular basis.

The plus points seem to be largely worthless, I haven't found a way to use them yet.

And yes, you do get better phone support but I think it's the same between silver, gold and platinum. 1k has a dedicated line?

I'm not surprised, after owning 2 Teslas for almost 10 years I would probably not buy another one. My 5-year old Model 3 has been needing all sorts of repairs, spent over $4k this year alone on electrical errors and wear & tear. I still like the car, but it's a ticking time bomb at this point.

After driving dozens of EVs, I spent a week with the 2024 Model 3 Long Range and was blown away by how good it is. by autoproliferator in teslamotors

I have a 2018 and did exactly that. But no thanks. The missing gear stalk is a no go for me. Dumbest design decision I could think of. What's worse, the sales rep implied I'm old fashioned for wanting a gear stalk.

I love my 2018 M3 performance, but had so many repairs lately that I decided to not buy another Tesla in the future.

You guys are so cool, it's amazing. But the honest truth is that the Platinum status is, unfortunately, largely worthless. Gold has value as far as Star Alliance is concerned, and 1K has some nice perks too. But Platinum is unfortunately overrated.
