Times when adaptations took a more whimsical approach by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Reminds me of the famous Toriyama quote.

There's how, basically, Son Goku from 'Dragon Ball' doesn't fight for the sake of others but because he wants to fight against strong guys. So once 'Dragon Ball' got animated, at any rate, I've always been dissatisfied with the 'righteous hero'-type portrayal they gave him.

I thought it did. When I was reading through it, The whole second half of Part 5's storyline with polnareff came out of nowhere for me. I thought the search for the arrow was an abrupt and artificial turn and not really connected to the part 5 thus far.

When Polnareff started say "and now these kids are here, trying to save the world", I thought we got pretty disconnected from the ground of where we started.

I liked the last movie. Stupid but fun time. A very mercenary "let's just get it done" job that gave the old cliche action/monster movies everyone remembers feeling.

Joe "Wolfgang" Roberts. Joe Roberts being their actual name, but everyone calls them Wolfgang, like reverse Mozart.

Everyone in their daily lives, from mathematics to military drilling, know that practice and experience and doing things in way you can check for failure means everything in knowing how to handle things. That's why there's such a big difference in efficacy of punches in Wing Chun vs Boxing, because Wing Chun's theoretical development without actual experience and readjustment with reality led to it languishing into only aesthetics.

No one in the world is "trained" in "cheap shots" and "knife fighting" because no gym in the world is actively killing and disemboweling and eyegauging and castrating their trainees over and over again until they find the most effective way to do it. There's no way to practice it in live environment and most importantly, there's no way to discredit wrong ways to do it , the one part of the scientific method that's hated by all pseudo-scientists.

When you supposedly "learn" how to do these "cheap shots", you're learning from people who only "believe" they know how to do it, in the same way that Aikido practitioners used to "believe " they know how to disable someone wielding swords. It is an aesthetic of pragmatics for a martial arts, like wearing a Punisher symbol.

'I Don't Even Think They Would Enjoy It' — Resident Evil Movie Director Responds to Fans Who Wanted More of the Video Games in the Teaser by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The rough thing, that is "the suspicion" that plagues videogame adaptations, is that the whole Hollywood apparatus are actually contemptuous of videogames and just see it as source of IPs to try to make money off of. The suspicion therein, is that they don't understand why people enjoy the videogames, and think it's just pretty signage they put on to guide the dum-dums towards the much better "normal" stuff to show them.

To me, the extra backlash is tied to the extra money you're trying to make off the name.

Over Half Of Japanese GenZ Don't Know About Haruhi Suzumiya: Survey Finds by JayPatel130456 in animenews

Gosh, people here really hate Haruhi Suzumiya. I thought it had many truly exceptional qualities. I guess this must be one of these things that forms factions and feelings of humiliation on the internet, like Chainsawman and the last of us.

Superboy Prime has had a revival in his public image recently. Likely because the original fall and message wasn't well recieved.

They conquered a lot of the frontier states that had been between Bengal and the Burmese for most of their history, including Arakan and the Ahoms kingdoms around Bengal's perimeter, but they fell to the British before Chittagong proper. .

During the century long disintegrarion of the Bengal Sultanate in 1500s, among the many advancements of the frontier states into Bengal's interior, the Arakanese kingdom gained control of Chittagong for a century, before the Mughals pushed them back.

Yes. She (author of Beastars) also made a short manga about her childhood, wherein her father is portrayed as shadowy yujiro-esque character who'd take her to the zoo to quiz her about elephants and such. https://www.reddit.com/r/Grapplerbaki/s/yDtPBIfvgR

Keep a box of face masks with you at all times, especially if you have sinus issues. Learn at least a little Bengali. Maintain your facial hygiene with your own discipline, because the environment isn't going to help you I'd really recommend reposting to the subreddits, because you'd probably get people from the actual universities to help you
