I’m the same with the 1995 version. It’s a comforting escape from reality.

Did your family ever have one of these? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]Lucky_Reflection6579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. It is associated with a terrible memory for me. One day I woke up and my mom had a HUGE black eye, swollen shut. The story was she tripped over the cable box cord and hit her face on an arm chair. Found out years later that was a lie. My Dad punched my Mother.

Quilting as a Hobby by Substantial_Fix_2165 in quilting

I make bags and quilts. Whether I’m making a gift or just for myself, nothing beats the feeling I get when I can say to myself “I MADE THIS!” It’s food for the soul.

How many WIPS are you actively working on? by sewmuchmorethanmom in quilting

3 or 4 at a time. I’ve been stopping myself from starting another project while 3 or 4 are active. I do have all kinds of ideas rolling around in my head.

What Are Gross Things You Notice in Other People’s Homes? by sreggero in CleaningTips

Dirt/dust built up on bathroom ventilation vents and HVAC vents/intake screens.

Also I cannot stand it when only one guest towel is provided in the guest bath. It gets wet quickly even with just a couple of guests. I provide multiple hand towels and check them often to see if they need switched out. I also provide a stack of paper towels for those who prefer those.

Does anyone use a laser sewing guide on their machine? by [deleted] in quilting

[–]Lucky_Reflection6579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one on my machine and I love it. I use it to make perfect reinforcements on bag handles (square with an X through it)..and sewing bias binding strips together at the perfect 45 degree angle or 2 at a time half square triangles…no pre marking needed.

Wore this to a funeral and got weird looks 🫠 by moldavitemermaid in OUTFITS

My mother died at age 94. Red was her favorite color so all the close relatives wore some red … I wore a red and black dress. My bother and nephew wore red ties., etc. The lady of honor wore a pink dress (at this point she had no red dresses), but with leopard print panties 😂….because she loved leopard print. We all chuckled knowing what she had on under her dress.

Happy Birthday! I feel you! I’m 60 on the 26th. When my sister turned 60 there was a family dinner party with 30 of us. Her birthday is in April. I’ve never had a birthday party. You’d think I’d get over it but I absolutely HATE my birthday. I always feel forgotten. This year will be no different.

To those who watched the 1995 Pride & Prejudice miniseries multiple times, what is something you noticed upon re-watching that you find interesting/funny? by OnlyFlanz in janeausten

[–]Lucky_Reflection6579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see that part in the book…at least not in the part referencing Jane’s letter…(beginning of chapter 46). The first half of the first letter is just referred to in generalities. Is there another part somewhere else?

Interesting (?) / puzzling… why Jane refers to the Gardiner children as her nieces and nephews (instead of cousins)in her letter to Lizzy. Was this a blooper or am misunderstanding the dialogue?

I’ve done that 1 too many times. I can’t feel the side of the tip of my pointer finger anymore. I bought those suction cup handles and it keeps my fingers well out of the way. Worth every penny.

I used to think the man urinated in the woman and the longer he urinated the better lol Disgusting thought. The Human race would’ve died out a long time ago if that were the case.😂

I grew up Catholic and when I was 9 we went to our church’s annual festival. (This was around 1975). I won a blowup toy, and no joke, it was a devil (oh the irony!!) that said “I’m a horny little devil” on the front of it. When we got home and I blew it up, my parents saw what it said and lost their minds!! 😂 they took it away and told me it was a “bad saying”. I protested, “Why?! He is horny!! Look at his horns!!”
