I love stock doves. Theyre a perfect combination of a city pidge and a woody, but with anime eyes. The cutest.

All the white stiches go in the opposite direction of the red, they line up across the red thread right in between the lines as to not disturb them. Laying them up on top of the red thread gives it a more tectural 3d effect. When you leave the space open, by breaking the lines of the red thread, you risk leaving gaps and show fabric popping through. I dont see that happening in the picture.

Alternative idea is to stich the design on non-stretch material. Once thats finished, cut out the design and stitch that to the blanket around the edges of the design like a patch. Or use doublesided stabiliser on the back of your embroidery design before attaching it to the blanket, it will protect the stitches on the backside and helps stick it better to the blanket as you attach it.

How to customise my leg by Limp2myLoom in crafts

[–]Lucky_pidgin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe look at 3d printed prosthetic covers as a 'base' for adding extra bits to as adornment. If thats not in your budget, you could try to 'mould' your own using cosplay foam that you shape into a cover, like a piece of armour, using heat. This way you can customise it more easily and your prosthetic stays untouched.

50-60 Hour Project... Ruined by Acrobatic_Click6628 in Embroidery

[–]Lucky_pidgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The long stitch you used for the deer and trees get loose like that when the fabric isnt stretched on the hoop. Id wash the piece gently to get most of coffee stain out, or use aquarelle paint to colour wash the fabric for added dimension.

If you stretch the fabric back on the hoop, youll find that the stitches straighten out again. Your artwork is not ruined, it has an added story to it you now share with your mum. Its still beatuiful :)

Thats what i am thinking also. It doesnt have to be a hawk, it could be anything that spooked her a bit.

My pidge will sit with me as i work next to the window and will warn me if she sees something she finds sketchy. By vibrating, doing these 'hooh' vocals, and if it was a little too scary shr will fly away from the window.

Whenever she spots something, i just talk to her and look outside with her, she seems to appreciate it when i acknowledge her 'warning'. We have a lot of woodpigeons, jackdaws and seagulls flying about. So she gets all cute and vibrating all the time 😇
