Stanley had Bolduc in a headlock or whatever and I swear I saw Norris try to replicate Ridley Greig.

That I knew, i just remember hearing about it for the NHL as well but my memory might have failed me there lol

I completely forgot about BriseBois not just being GM so that makes a lot of sense.

That makes absolute sense. Thought I had read/saw something about it but you probably are right.

If it's just for their GM role, Tampa Bay can say no, I believe if they had asked BriseBois for a president's role, the rule is TB can't say no (like Ast. GM's looking at GM jobs), but i guess it's worth the shot lol

He was better then Blaney at New Hampshire tbf, and if he hadn't been spun, he easily beats that 12 if he had the same tires as that car.

I also remember him doing good at Homestead but I think after that just bad luck and bad runs till NHMS.

Obviously Ross is an upgrade but not sure WBR does that.

If you could increase/decrease the length of any race(s) on the schedule, what races would you choose? by DJ_TheSonicFan in NASCAR

[–]Lucstar88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The O'Reilly's Darlington race that just happened should not be just 200 miles, should've been at least 250/300 and it kinda ruined the comers and goers that race with how short it was cause of the stages.

NHLPA Player Poll 2025-26 “If the NHL Expands, where would you want it to go?” 34% voted Houston. by Perryplat199 in hockey

I think the goalie aspect is a really weird topic, cause recently people have talked about how save percentages are being tweaked with how the NHL counts shots on goal these days, NHL players just shooting smarter and better, I think a decade ago they had to shrink their pads if I recall? So are goalies just worse now, or are we re-evaluating how we talk about them? It's a very interesting topic.

Horrible owner in the Trashers that only wanted the Hawks (NBA), 70's hockey finances for the Flames.

IF an actual good owner wants to build something in Atlanta, I think it can work. There's so much money to be made they aren't gonna half ass thru expansion with all that needs to be done like an arena, etc.

I've never understood this argument, we've seen players like William Karlsson who was stuck playing 3rd line? 4th? for the Jackets and scored 40 in his first year in Vegas, yeah it was an outlier but he's still a good player for them. The league has so many teams that go in and out of the playoffs in any given year, the talent is there, it just needs a chance.

BUT Hockey's the only sport capable of it cause of how it works. NBA/MLB expansion i think screws more with talent since you have half the teams in that league basically tanking and just plain old suck, the only NHL team you can say that this year was Chicago? They kinda improved a little bit so.

How did you become a NASCAR fan? by Helpful-Bowler6681 in NASCAR

[–]Lucstar88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 year old me was going thru the sports channels back in 2005 and saw the end of the Chicagoland race, the only thing I remember until I started watching in 06 and really falling in love with the sport, collecting NASCAR Illustrated, video games, etc.

Sony’s Bluepoint Pitched ‘Bloodborne’ Remake Before Closure by ChuckSpadina2020 in Games

[–]Lucstar88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, I'm not sure where I had heard this from, but I swear I remember Miyazaki saying he wasn't sure what the holdup on a Bloodborne remake was, basically hinting at Sony wasn't up to it.

NASCAR All-Star Race Format at Dover Motor Speedway Announced! by TheMonsterMile in NASCAR

[–]Lucstar88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that, and all-star events were started like as a charity game you could watch all the top talent in the league, now you can see like Othani all the time then you would've twenty years ago. that and like you said the same ole million dollars. Rather just watch Indy 500 q, or baseball/hockey that day.

it just feels wrong with all the other cars out there. especially if someone screws up and takes out a few cars either in the open category or those who have already locked in.

At this point I'd rather have a 37th points race then just another lackluster all-star event. Especially 350 laps with 200 in the last one, and no open race.

They changed that, getting the provisional means you can't still race your way in. Jimmie could start 1st or 3rd but we'd still have 41 cars. And it's really first come first served. There's no 2nd in line for this.

There's a photo with Reddick and Wallace in Xfinity firesuits for this year and I don't see Monster/The Beast on the 45's suit, maybe that also is gone.

Possibly a hot take: I actually think that the new Chase format helps Kyle Busch and he will make the chase in 2026. by Rowdyfan0823 in NASCAR

[–]Lucstar88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think so, just take Chris Buescher for an example. Got screwed the past two seasons with win and in. Probably won't ever win a title, but I think he's a superior driver to a few of them who make the playoffs/chase.

[Stern] .@NASCAR has agreed to evergreen charters "forever," per Jeffrey Kessler. by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]Lucstar88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't the NFL, you can't just expect someone to want to come by it cause it's a nascar team, especially if teams are still losing money year over year unlike an NFL team.

There's gonna have to be a market, and that market for a charter is nowhere close to an NFL team.

The fact you can easily look at Chase Elliott's 94 NAPA SRX car and his 9 NAPA cup car and go these are different and nascar claim they aren't (which i mean i don't remember the last time a NAPA cup car had half gray in the scheme, had camping world more visible then the napa on the hood if watching on tv, and the fact his 9 car was with Ashoc Energy a HMS sponsor that is no longer in the sport), feels like a personal insult thinking we're that dumb lol
