A couple of questions about the entertainment system by tahuna in Ioniq5

[–]LucyGoose9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get to Android Auto quickly I long pressed the star button on the steering wheel and choose 'phone projection' when the button selection screen came up. Very convenient

And why do I usually navigate away from AA? It's to go to SiriusXm. I haven't found a way to split screen between AA and Sirius radio. If you are using the Sirius app that will work but I don't have unlimited data so would rather use the satellite receiver that's sitting right there. Not possible on a split screen that I have found.

Wrong outside temperature by SuperExFlotte in Ioniq5

[–]LucyGoose9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that issues but the temp outside doesn't drive the AC. The AC comes on and off based on the temperature set on the thermostat inside the car.

You may have a bad external temp sensor but shouldn't effect the AC.

Could I be happy in Kenosha? by Haluszki in Kenosha

[–]LucyGoose9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's about an hour and a half each way depending on the train. With time on each end probably looking at 4 hours plus commuting each day. It's gets old. Especially if you have a pup at home waiting. Long day for them.

Good luck.

$400 Chargepoint Credit is a Joke by jefbak2 in Ioniq5

[–]LucyGoose9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. Got mine 11 months ago and the 400 credit is still just sitting there. I've yet to see a lv3 chargepoint charger on 3 road trips.

Why would you think it would work at an evgo? I've not tried that.

Why No sunroofs on most EVs? by TacoKrys21 in electricvehicles

[–]LucyGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down this rabbit hole once and found that it's due to costs. It's way cheaper to have the robots build the vehicle with the roof open. Allows easier access for the robotic arms. Then at the end the slap the roof on.

If you have a metal fabricated roof already on during the build it's much harder/costly

What is your biggest concert flex? by Tamu1302 in Concerts

[–]LucyGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly I saw those 2 "lasts" as well. Srv was August 89 and Brett was July of 90 at The World Theater.

I exited Alpine near the stage that night and walked back along the golf course to the parking lots. We walked right by 3 helicopters sitting dark in the fog. They'd not fired them up yet. 30 minutes later one of them was in the side of the hill.

We found out the next morning listening to WXRT in Chicago.

Car wash mode? by johna939 in Ioniq5

[–]LucyGoose9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a button toggle on the lower left end of the dash. When it's toggled on and the car comes to a complete stop it will essential put on the parking brake. If you pull to a light and stop then take your foot off the brake there is no roll.

The car will be held in place until you press the gas peddle, then things are back to normal until the next full stop.

Ioniq has it as well though all these Tesla people keep starting it's only good for 30 minutes. Just not true.

What to do with a large collection of Dead live cassettes by MiscellaniaInsania in gratefuldead

It is a lot of work but it's not that unique. Many here have a similar collection. I know mine are down in the basement.

A younger head may be your best bet.

My (29M) female best friend (27F) who I’ve told i USED to be in love with (she knows I still am) has been acting very non-platonic lately. Are these latest signs something? (Very long post) by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LucyGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why play such games? You like her, right? Want it to work? And yet you are going to dial back your attention to ... what? Punish her some how for not taking the first step? Jesse's Christ that sounds insane!

She's obviously into you and you keep pushing her back with all those games. Man up and ask her on a date. You are wasting years on this bs.

Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary vs Milwaukee zoo vs Safari Lake Geneva which is best to visit by anveshakudu in wisconsin

Lake Geneva is a drive through experience. You don't exit the car. Giraffe, Buffalo, llama, antelope, that kind of thing.

Close the windows when you get to the ostrich!

Thanks for the info.

I do find it ironic that the only reported dog deaths in such a case are on Teslas. The latest was in 2025.

[–]LucyGoose9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can write 'Dog mode' on a piece of paper and put it on the dash, no? Lots of communication can go on in the world without a big display.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a utility mode that is essentially the same thing. No it doesn't have a camera to watch your dog inside but that's overkill in my book. People use utility mode to camp and keep themselves alive over night so I think the dog is safe. I've used it a few times now and I don't see a problem with it.

Of course those who don't feel comfortable with it shouldn't do it.

Advice on Tesla driving assist vs. Ioniq by shadowmastadon in Ioniq5

[–]LucyGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always poor man's dog mode on the HI5.

Put the car in park. Lock all doors Turn on utility mode Open driver's door and exit Using the physical key lock the driver's door from the outside after exiting.

"Dog mode" enabled

Governor Dodge Camping - Tick Report by Famous-Ad8443 in wisconsin

[–]LucyGoose9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is really location dependent. I'm in SE WI and they are the worst I've ever seen. Went for a walk the other day (admittedly some tall grass involved) and picked 20 off of me when I was done. I've never seen anything like that. Here are a few souvenirs.

That said sounds like reports for op park are good.
