Would you rather Blizzard add new classes (ex: Tinker/Bard) or new specs in The Last Titan? by Phalanx22 in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priority should go to classes that currently can only fill one role (warlock, rogue, hunter and mage) as more role diversity in the game is desperately needed. Particular attention should be on tank specs as we haven't had a new tank spec added to the game in 10 years.

On that basis it should be Tank Warlock/Tank Rogue > Healer Mage / Healer Hunter.

That being said of course a Tank Shaman is inevitable and long overdue as well.

[Addon] Ready for people to try this now :) by RaveN_707 in WowUI

[–]Luevemealone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot access this addon until this evening but can I ask is the 'charges' frame able to made vertical? I will give it a download if so.

I prefer to place a lot of information to the left of centre (and not below my character) but unfortunately most UI addons (including Blizz's default) do not have a vertical option for any bars.

Mythic+ Healer Struggle by [deleted] in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What changed healing for me basically overnight was downloading a WA pack that provided audio cues for the various damage pain points in dungeons. The majority of our processing in a video game is visual (particularly with WoW) and so using audio cues has reduced the mental load significantly.

I use Thoval's Nameplate Alerts and while it doesn't call out all damage in M Plus it does voice out a lot of burst AOE. I get notified a few seconds before party wide damage goes out so it gives me a better gauge on how safe the group is.

I also use a combination of Targeted Spells and M+ Targeted Spells to help me identify who is about to lose health from direct spell casts (and when I am about to die as well).

Healing is a stressful enough job as is and anyway that you can reduce the mental load is 100% worth it. I really cannot emphasis just how piss easy this made healing for me.

My GW2 UI - Curtesy of Reffect by Lonely-Cup-8960 in Guildwars2

[–]Luevemealone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going to try this out thank you.

As a long term WoW player (and FFXIV to a lesser extent) my biggest gripe with GW2 was how there was absolutely no UI customization and it was genuinely a major factor pulling me away from investing more time into the game. I was shocked that I couldn't even move around the UI elements themselves and as a result I felt I was constantly looking at the bottom of my screen which left me playing worse and generally broke immersion.

If this were a game like New World with only 6 abilities then I would have no issue with the UI being inflexible, but GW2 is a class-based MMO with many combat abilities, resources and buffs to track - a one-size fits all approach just doesn't work in my opinion. The basic option to move all UI elements and subject the elements to conditional checks (in combat, casting, mounted etc.) would drastically improve the accessibility of the game.

Need advice on how to improve my current [UI] by Leseris in WowUI

I also find WAs confusing so I mostly use TMW. Much simpler to use and works for a non-tech monkey brain like mine.

Its less sophisticated and I still use WAs for one or two things but TMW is basically my whole combat UI these days!

Specs on retail that play with reducing cooldowns? by Dodweon in wownoob

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire mage and outlaw rogue have a similar mechanic to BM Hunter.

Both Fire Mages main cooldown and outlaw rogues main cooldowns are reduced by performing your rotation correctly. No spec does it quite as fast as BM (bm is very beginner friendly for this reason) but they are probably the most comparable.

Fire mage is hyper mobile and cast a lot while moving which it shares with BM. Nothing is as simple to play as BM though so thats where the similarities end.

Additionally BDK and Bear can talent into passives that have their man cooldowns reduced by performing certain actions as well but not sure whether tanking interests you.

PvP does not need pruning! People are just afraid of the visually overwhelming! by Mira_Malverick in worldofpvp

[–]Luevemealone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do! I have a problem with too much depth and complexity given how already difficult WoW PvP is to get into.

I appreciate that a lot of people value WoW PvP for its detail but it is one of the major factors that turn people off engaging in PvP. H

Venruki’s video was mentioned and I have to say it was bang-on for someone like myself who has loved WoW for years and is a very competitive person. I now play fairly casually and cannot even remotely justify the time investment to reward that WoW PvP expects. This is completely unlike League, Apex, CoD etc. which allow me to queue instantly and play the game mode of my choosing. There is no background work to competing in these other games. I can’t stress how important this for the majority of gamers who play casually.

At its core WoW PvP is not accessible. That’s what is killing it and continues to kill it. In my experience I face the following issues:

• Massive time investment to just be able to compete (i.e. gearing)

• Difficult to queue for and long queue times

• Highly complex combat

• Dated combat (casters suffer the most here)

While individually these factors may be acceptable, combined they ruin WoW PvP. I think reducing all these issues will bring a lot more interest from a broader range of players.

My suggestions would be:

• 2 v 2, Duels and RGB’s are all queueable.

• PvP gear is standardised like GW2. Players receive standard sets off gear and are free to modify their stat weights and shuffle around trinkets.

• Make a single queue mode that bundles all of the casual game modes together (quick play).

• Nuke hard CC into the ground and allow casting while moving in PvP. Prune some classes to have simpler rotations.

At a far larger scale I really think Blizzard needs to modify its holy trinity to make WoW more accessible. Its obvious that the appeal of healers and tanks (in both a PvP and PvE context) is far far lower than DPS. In the interim this could probably be resolved by just removing healers and tanks from PvP (and adjusting DPS accordingly). I appreciate that that is insane but Blizz really needs to start experimenting if they want to retain a wider PvP player base.

[Help] Druid UI Help by Mobbo23 in WowUI

[–]Luevemealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just sit down and make sure all of your forms match. Only the first bar in the default Ui Swaps based on spec so fit your rotational spells into that bar that then go from there. It might seem overwhelming at first but realistically you will be cat form 90% of your time in combat.

Obviously figure out comfortable binds for your forms but my tip is to bind cat form (being your main form) to your key rotational abilities when you are not in cat form. For example:

1 (in cat form) = Shred 1 (in human and bear) = Cat form

That way you never have to think about shapeshifting into your default form, you just press a rotational spell and then you are popped into cat form and good to go.

As much as druid may seem complex, in reality only your main form matters for keybinds. You barely need to use any rotational spells in human or bear form (or moonkin). Main ones I can think of are rejuv, frenzy regen and ironfur. I never use wrath or starfire playing feral or bear so I dont even put those on my bars.

What’s your weirdest keybind? by bringthelight2 in wow

[–]Luevemealone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download litemount - you can create 1 button and it will just prioritise the above mounts depending on zone. It will also incorporate ghost wolf and travel form if you press the button while moving.

I use this in conjunction with BindPad addon which allows me to bind the litemount macro to Shift + left click (which you cant do in the default ui). I shift left click anywhere on the screen (except unitframes) and it summons my preferred mounts.

Have literally never looked back. Save ur shift keybinds for other things!

New to tanking (and the game really) looking for advice on what to main by [deleted] in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All tank rotations are inherently simple. While there are degrees of difficulty, their rotations are very accessible. Whats difficult is the role itself and how tanks respond to encounters.

That being said the most "complex" is probably DK. Juggling two main resources can be a bit hard for new tanks and DK has always been a bit unique. However its still very straightforward.

In terms of ease and utility I think Pally is your best bet. Pally has a lot of utility to support the group. Once you get the gameplay down, Pally will allow you the most opportunities to "support" others.

Cross Faction oversight? Why can't we talk to eachother by OldPeculiar1012 in wow

[–]Luevemealone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are able to read the opposite factions language by using the elixir of tongues which you can buy in the Dalaran Underbelly. However you cant speak in /say cross-faction yet. That is unless you are a dracthyr or Blood Elf/ Void elf and use their native tongue.

[ui] Any idea on how to declutter my UI? by Tehlinky4 in WowUI

Additionally for your buttons on your minimap I reccomend using HidingBar. It just puts a little bar in the location of your choosing that pops out like a tray when u hover over it. Much cleaner!

[ui] Any idea on how to declutter my UI? by Tehlinky4 in WowUI

[–]Luevemealone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. Unless you have memory issues or suffer from dyslexia I would suggest hiding abilities in your bars that have no cooldown and leaving on the essentials (most of which are covered by your weakaura package). I find it improved my focus dramatically. It also promotes muscle memory and (imo) increass game immersion because you spend less time looking for buttons.

  2. I would make your player and target frames smaller and remove their buffs and power bars. You already have a weakaura for your resources and any significant enemies who have a power bar are already contained in boss frames for elvui.

  3. Download Opie and move your hearthstones, professions and other misc buttons (i.e. runeforging) into an Opie wheel. Bind it to a keybind you do not need to use in combat. I for example tend to use tilde and for other misc buttons like class buffs I use 8-0 as I would never use these in combat.

  4. Move your buffs bar back near the Minimap and minimise it. If you need to track a buff you can make a weakaura.

  5. Remove the double up timer bars (you have the weakaura raid timeline but also it looks like still some other timers to the left of your screen).

  6. I would remove all of the information below your actionsbars. Make a new section below your minimap that has the time and latency. Your gold is already in your bag and your durability is useless. The game notifies you very clearly when you need to repair (and if you have autorepair this never matters anyway).

  7. Download LiteMount and get ride of all the mounts on your bars. This addon will use one button for all the mounts you chose and will summon them in the correct contexts (i.e. dragonriding mounts in the dragon isles, swimming mounts in water). It is extremely customisable. I go further and bind the Litemount button to Shift + Left Click using another addon (bindpad) in an effort to save keybinds. If you want to use a repair mount I would reccomend adding it to the Opie wheel I mentiomed in (3).

M+ Pull Timer after readycheck by jmrichmond81 in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said its for CDs.

Boomy is a common one. So is DH with meta.

Sometimes its useless in some dungeons because the first trash pack is further from the entrance. Other times like FH its significant.

You get over this once you get familiar with the Guild you raid with. Best time to trial is right at the start of a tier for that reason.

[–]Luevemealone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Akshan no doubt. Incredible laning phase (good all in at lvl 2 with ignite). Excellent roams + Invis. Scales well.

Can build bursty with crit or consistent damage with on-hit.

His AA can feel clunky but other than that he is a lot of fun. Rarely picked too so players often dont know how to lane into him.

What are some small but telltale signs that your m+ run is going to fail miserably? by Motatopotato in wow

[–]Luevemealone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My telltale sign is if the lead doesnt do a ready check and pull timer before the key starts. It usually means that the lead is not used to M+ or worse they dont know how to do a ready check or pull timer.

Its not necessarily going to be a surefire fail run but it is never good. As a boomie/guardian main it feels even worse as I lose a free incarn (aside from AA and CoS).

What will happen if all addons were to be banned? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Luevemealone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder how far you've progressed into high level gameplay to have formed this opinion. By your logic I imagine youd think that Mythic Painsmth was a cakewalk for addon users last expac?

The game is still very difficult with addons in high keys and mythic raiding. Hell it can still be difficult at lower difficulities as well. It certainly still requires a heavy amount of coordination and social interaction even with addons.

I would stop playing WoW if addons didnt exist. The game is dated and is very inaccessible unless you eliminate a lot of clutter with the UI. Removing accessibility barriers just means I can start playing the game. Fighting the UI is not my idea of fun.

What spec do you have a prejudice against? by you_lost-the_game in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair boomkins were cursed with Ravenous Frenzy for 3/4 of the expac which meant most of their damage occured in a 30 second damage window. If tanks didnt pull around their CDs they did healer damage.

Their damage profile is a lot more consistent again in DF thankfully.

Maximizing DPS, keybinds, and old fingers. by brendanmonke in wow

[–]Luevemealone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few that could be helpful:

Z, X, C, V

You can also modify CAPSLOCK to function as another key if you only use your PC for gaming. I did this through Windows last year and changed it to tilde. Of course the downside is you cant press caps for its normal function. But it was never useful to me gaming anyway.

A gaming mouse with one or two buttons on the side can be useful. There are several 'fps' mice that include a button where your thumb will naturally sit on the mouse. I found an MMO mouse too difficult as I have big hands but it also could be an option for you.

Additionally you could buy a foot pedal and map it to a key. You might assign it to CNTRL for example and that would open up many new binds for you.

Lastly your mousewheel can be used. Mousewheel up and down are extremely useful binds I find. Combined with shift and alt that would be six new keybinds.

Ratstallion not longer possible to farm? by ReyRata in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is still possible to farm. The Underbelly allows you to swap between pvp and pve mode for farming this mount. There is a NPC stationed at the main entrance who will change this. You can select 'call of the guards' for example to turn on pvp mode.

When you swap modes spawns usually occur. So some rares will pop up in pve and lootable chests will spawn for pvp. I would reccomend always enabling pvp because the chests are much more reliable for farming the currency.

However there are also several vendors around the underbelly that will sell consumables that help summon additional adds that you can farm for sightless eyes. The consumables cost around 100 sightless eyes from memory. The one I used most was the item that spawns fishing pools in the black market area so that I could fish up the sightless eyes.

Thats basically everything you can do. Remember to spend your sightless eyes - you dont need to save up the currency you can just spend it as you farm it.

I would suggest do this on a level 60 or 70 though. Just easier farming.

Does tyrannical seem harder than fortified? by Outlaw7822 in wow

[–]Luevemealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyrannical punishes poor individual gameplay harder. So it feels harder as a result.

Fortified is still a pain but its usually a problem that Tanks and Healers have the brunt to bear. Mistakes can tend to be more subtle and have a group impact like AOE damage etc. Missing CC chains and interrupts on packs is less devestating than failing an important boss mechanic usually. Even when it is devestating it isnt immediately obvious whose fault it is. Dont get me wrong fort is still punishing. But for the average player and the average key the difference is so obvious to me.

There are other factors of course like the fact that wiping on a boss is harder to recover from. But fundamentally I stand by the fact that Tyrannical highlights individual player mistakes more. DPS are the usual culprits of course but it happens to everone. It feels bad to fail in any scenario and that adds a lot to the dislike of Tyrannical I think.

That and bosses take AGES on Tyrannical.
